  1. depends of the breed + what work they are bred for, a lot of terriers bred for hard graft below ground dont make good pets, there is probably the occasional exception to this however. my "pet" parson russel bitch has however turned into a good bushing terrier and only started hunting at the grand old age of 6 and a half, tbh, i didnt think she had it in her, shes 8 now and very handy when i go ferreting with the lurcher

  3. b*****ds!!!!!!! They got Splinter? hahaha
  4. Did any of you see the Sun newspaper today? A rat of 2/1ft long has been shot in Ravenscliffe in Bradford!, the fella said " the other 4 got away" fu**ing hell it was massive. I might nip over but i think my Russels might be under gunned! seriously, see the paper its the biggest thing ive ever seen.
  5. if i was going to breed a lurcher useing collie blood i'd go for a hill collie, light bone but wirey and highly intelligent and agile, handsome too.... Makes sense - I guess what I was wondering was whether one would pick a different type of collie to cross with a whippet than you'd cross with a greyhound? I see your point you know, the whippet is wiry enough, might you go for one with a bit more bulk about it?
  6. salt, pepper, onion, carrot, oxo cube, gas mark 5 for 2 hours, have i got the wrong post?
  7. I was talking to a lad off here at Wortley show, he had a Beagle cross? and said it worked its bollocks off. No reason to doubt him he seemed happt with it.

  9. I would say thats probably the strongest looking Patt ive ever seen! Theyre both a credit to you Dingle, they look spot on.
  10. Thanks for that bit of advice, never thought of putting a couple in my pocket.
  11. speak for yourself lad. personnally i never done or witnessed two terriers going to ground at the same time?? that was until the end of last season when i was invited to southern ireland through a friend off a friend and these fellas thought it was ""THE DONE THING""??????? i couldn't believe my eyes. to say the least i won't be on a green field with them again... IMO if 1 terrier on it's own cannot do the job it was breed to do, it aint worth a batt. the same applies to lurchers. Ive read all the posts and agree with this one.
  12. I knew they were venomous but like i said , 2/3 seconds and it was over. i think i`ll keep away from there for a while anyway. I `d hate to lose a dog that way.
  13. Well done Pal, give yourself a pat on the back. should be more like you.
