  2. Agree, lets hear the comments lads/lasses, to those who have actually owned them. ;)

    Frank.

    Frank,

you know Frank, dogs are a lot like women, maybe the one you have, you would like to trade in for something better but then when you get another one you find that it has faults in other areas.

I do not think there is a perfect anthing, close sometimes but perfect I do not think so, I think if you have a dog that suits you and what you do, and everybody is differant, then that is all that matters to you,who cares about what a lot of the clowns that post on here say,I think we can all sive through the people who are clowns and who are not, it always amuses me to read some of the crap coments that some people make on this forum, coments about some of the old timers who have a world of knowlege in their heads but can not respond to some of the wiz kids computer experts on here because they probably do not even know how to turn on a computer, some of those old timers have more knowlege in their little finger than these computer wiz kids will ever have in a life time, thats if they ever do own more than one dog, I think quite a few of the guys on here are just out and out shit stirers.

Yes I do have a hancock dog, yes she does suite me, yes she has her foults but then so do I. to the computer wiz kids, I hope you find that perfect dog.

It would be very interesting to know just how many of the people that respond to posts regarding hancock have actually owned one of his dogs, do a poll on the guys that actually owned one!!!

I respect your views Parkstone, you seem like a very knowlegable dog man but really I am a little confused, how many Laguna familys are there and when is a Laguna a Laguna and when is it not.

I have a whippet dog who I imported from Mike Brown, he is a little on the large side,22'',nice size for over here, he is a great dog in my books, does every thing and more that I have asked him to do,turned out just like Mike said he would, beautifull dog smart, tough as nails, but the thing is, is he a Laguna,I have a 5 generation pedigree on him and the 5th generation is like 99% Laguna so what does that make him? being 22'' does that mean he is not a Laguna, confused, like I said how many Laguna familys are there.

By the way he has Sooty Sam several times in his Peddigree

  5. IVE JUST BOUGHT A HEATER FOR MY KENNEL ITS A TUBULAR HEATER THAT GETS USED TO STOP FROST IN GREEN HOUSES ITS WORKS GREAT AND THE KENNEL IS REALLY WARM I LOOKED AT THE INFA RED LAMPS BUT THEY WERE QUITE EXPENSIVE ,,THIS ONLY COST ME 20 QUID AND IS 3 FOOT LONG..

I JUST WONDERED WHAT OTHER PEOPLE USED

    CHEERS

    HAPPY HUNTING

    SCOTTY

Hi Scotty, I have some lurcher pups under a infa red heat lamp at the moment,I use a 175 watt, hung from a chain so you can regulate the height of the heat, you can get higher wattage than that of course depening how much coverage you want, idealy they should be all spread out from the heat not right under it,useing the chain you have to change the height according to the temp. in the building, I use this method for young chicks also.It is not too bad here temp. wise at the moment, here in Southern Ontario it does not get as cold as in other parts, -5 at the moment, out west it is -20 to -30,my pups just spread out and just seem to eat and sleep, 3 weeks old today, hope you have good luck with your lamp, anybody in North America looking for a well bred pup , give me a shout,

    good hunting

  6. Hi, I wonder if anybody had a similar experiance with foxes..... back in the early 70's in south Cumbria a freind of mine was out with his bedlington lurcher and his blue rough coated lakeland- patterdale terrier, back in those days not all patterdales were black and smoth coated and he came from good working stock from around Kendal, anyway his dogs put up a fox, ran it and cought it, when he got to them they were raging it and it appeared to him that it was dead, he thought nice work dogs, picked the fox up swung it round his head and threw it, as soon as that fox hit the ground it was off running, it was just playing possom.

I know a lot of you guys are going to say if his lurcher was a bull cross it would not have happened, back then you would never see the type of bull crosses that are around today.

I see where a guy said hares do not go to ground, back then we put them to ground when pressed hard, not a lot but I have seen it, put them in water too when pressed hard, I guess you would do whatever to survive.
