  1. no rush mate just watch the weather. As you couldnt put much of a slope on the roof mate i would put some cold Bitumen on before the felt mate. i made that mistake myself mate when i built my first ferret court a couple of years back when we had some heavy rain
  2. look very good mate what steel did you use?
  3. they are right mate dont take it personally im on my first bird and its not easy there are so many things that could go wrong and then thats the bird f****d mate. i just brought a book called understanding birds of prey mate its brilliant and well worth a read best book ive read so far to really get information. these lads really know what there talking about mate there not just having a dig mate take there advise and then when you do get a bird you will be glad you did dont forget a bird could live twice as long as a dog mate thats a bloody long time and its not for everyone

  5. hi as above please does anyone know if these are chain or cam belt and whats your views on these please it wont be used on anything to mad mainly flat farm fields and wet grass hills. cheers
  6. i have a bearded/border collie x grey mate 26tts brilliant at ferreting but i also use him for rough and pigeon shooting, lamping and comes out with the hawk. being 26ins he eats the hills when in chase which there is a lot of hills on some of my permission. having the rough coat he will sit out ferreting for hours no problem in all weathers so if your going to be doing mainly ferreting that might be something to think about mate
  7. good post mate i have a lurcher got him at 4 months and was scared of his own shadow when i got him home but i worked bloody hard with him and he is 95% better but thats taken me nearly 20 months to get where i am now with him but i always have to watch him as now and again he will go backwards but i have learnt to see the warning signs and step in before anything can happen. When out in the field he is 100% probably because he is focused on working but its things like strangers, cars, anything new like when i brought a new car he wouldnt come nowhere near it and so on but as i said its got

  13. Thanks mate to be honest i just think the bars look better and with the netting was worried about cats or other animals climbing up the front now ive free lofted him i put a high perch the whole width of the mews and a smaller perch in front of the bars which stops him going full pelt into the bars which seems to of worked so far. good luck when you get a bird mate and build a mews and thanks for your kind comments

  15. Nice looking dog mate, what was it like to train? after speaking to grovesy i think ill be going for a springer rather than a pointer now

  18. That is my worry with my lurcher as i know if a rabbit breaks cover my lurcher will give chase and i think it would be unfair to tell him to leave it as i have been training him for 2 years nearly to chase and catch rabbits. they get on fine when out and dont bother each other at all but saying that a rabbit has never been chased when i have had them both out together. I think i would prefer a pointer but wouldnt rule out a springer or cocker as i would like to use a dog for rough shooting and working with the lurcher. What do you prefer mate springer or cocker and how different are they in
