  1. 10.5 grain pellets are ok to use in a 177 the problem arises when you fire 21grains + from a 12fpe gun.I found that 8.5 JSB's were as hard hitting as most other pellets from a springer.Crosman Premiers and Bisley magnum (H&N Baracuda)are the most accurate heavweights. The crossman pellets are the ones in the cardboard boxes mind not the tins. There is a difference and it shows in the balistic efficiency of the real premiers. Some 177 springers need to be retuned to stay at 11+fpe with heavy pellets, just make sure you keep on the legal side if you do this.As when you go back to light pellets y

  9. yup sometimes the first answer by a non expert can be the best an easiest to get your head round ,ive never heard of an airgun expert before.i know the lads on here have years of experiance between them but i doubt if they call themselves experts.they are unbelivibly helpfull to a novice such as i mate and one day with out being patronising ill be an expert.
  10. it was more of a question if the ultra was up to it,having heard of a lot of under powered ones ,and not who was shooting it.it seems if you ask a question somebody takes over and the subject originally asked goes by the way side, but never the less entertaining.

  17. it was simon loved them had 1 in every calibre .177 .20 and .22 but got ripped off by a well known hw dealer over the state of a supposedley new spring, and quality control wasnt on top of the wineracks list ,so i lost faith in both of their attitudes towarrds customers.deliberated for a while wether to get a 97kt but heard standards hadnt changed so bought british and blown away with airarms quality so there ya go mate ta for asking
  18. thanks all ,got rid of the hw and got a tx200 hc in .177 left handed in walnut, just seems to fit me better and got a better balance than the hw ,still love the hws though just wish the quality was how it used to be ,what are your opinions on both guns lads?
