  1. Any hill fox not just Wales Compare one of them to a fox in the Duke of Beaufort country and there's a massive difference. Obviously there's good foxes in the DOB country too but mainly the ones I seen when invited there i could dig with my 13 year old fat Russel.[/quote) When you come here mate they make allowances for you sensitive Welsh types .All the best are kept back for us carrot crunchers to see at their best. Foxes are foxes and all the same to any decent dog but only my opinion mind and experience all over the UK. Some want it some don't. Yes a fox is a fox. But as bee
  2. I don't find he chalk all that bad myself...no different on the dog just different on the man on the banjo. Can be tight and the chalk won't give like some soil do...iv a ten year old dog here, he's not mine...by far not the best dog iv seen but dug f*ck out of him in chalk with no problems at all. The type of dog that n.s liked apparently. He's not my cup of tea or what I strive for in a terrier but what he's accounted for there'd be alot of people whod rate him and jizz in they're pants for him.
  3. Don't worry there's plenty of hard deep places where I have a scratch about. Your not the only one who digs deeper than your cock...

  5. There's a fine line between a good hill fox and some shitty little scavenger living in a hedge. As iv said... most of the time they're alot more straight to get when you stumble upon them in an earth as to when hounds have run him hard and he's gone in.
  6. If some dogs don't like working any of the above then they shouldn't be a Terriermans dogs......So what if you had a dog that didn't like the stones but was a very devent dog in an earth? One that could get anywhere...would you not keep him? Most terrierman have 3 boxes on the bike...pick the 3 that will suit. Like strongbow said...as handy as they are/were on a hunting day, still not to be bred from.I would think the dog isn't all that if it didn't try it's best regardless of terrain.couldnt be dealing with choosey terriers.. you must have a good kennel of terriersno better then the next genu
  7. Yeah I know I saw a hunt terrier walk coz the fox wouldn't bolt lol And in certain places/with certain packs of hounds pre ban that terrier would be seriously handy. I.e rocks, or places you wouldn't want to enter your best stayer
  8. Yeah I know I saw a hunt terrier walk coz the fox wouldn't bolt lol The difference in a fox found with a full gut of birds laying in a little earth next to the pheasant pens on an estate...or a good fox that's been run hard for two hours across the Welsh mountain's by a pack of hounds. That's the difference.

  11. Correct. I was in that frame of mind until I needed a terrier for hunt work. They're not as easy to come by as you think...
  12. how many of the ns enthusiasts need what that man did?? A handful I'd say! the rest just jumping on the bandwagon.. who would you class as his enthusiasts ?
  13. I suppose he had a job do to and knew what tools he needed to do it....obviously he's gonna try and achieve what suited him...which he did from what I gather?
  14. I don't no what the attraction is with the stevens dogs! (unless in service) Only ever seen a handful of goodun's and they were dogs, and bitches not worth mentioning! Iv seen a few from most of the ns enthusiasts kennels, perhaps Iv just been unlucky in what Iv seen but more then most were shocking!..What about the famous Roxette? I hear she was a fair animal. Also heard bad about her, but that's the terrier world for you.can only comment on what Iv seen, also heard good things about her! She was obviously one of the better bitches from that line, she ever produced any bitches as good as her

  17. ? I said roxy, the ginger Tom cat corrected me....
  18. It's surprising how fecking thick half the eejits are that use terriers names to sell pups. There was a guy selling pups on Facebook advertised as nick Stevens blood. Me being the wind up I am messages him asking asking about them...he said nicks roxy was the grandmother of the pups. Imagine how long ago it was that bitch was alive...she was the start of it all. yet she's the grandmother to the pups just to sell. The man's a fecking eejit. He was judging the lurchers at Caerphilly show Monday. DB. Funny how so many of 'nick stevens' terriers names have come about since the book hit the market.
  19. What vet docked them, look at the lenght on them tails, lol looking good General and fit and healthy. Looks OK to me....
  20. He noticed the bitch, that and there was only one there with a pink collar on lolHahaha - to notice it did he recognise the breeding? I don't even know if it was his breeding just that some of the ancestors are mentioned in his section. Unless he was the guy I spoke to very briefly that has people coming from around the country to him. Although he asked if it was Nuttal blood. I didn't catch his name but seemed a pleasant enough guy I got some stick for the oversized pink collar but that's only for the shows. And yeah, I picked the colours myself I noticed that too ?
  21. It is a sense of achievement because when the culprit is gone there's a good chance you don't get the call for a while. Truth be told there's no fun in it at all...overweight terriers, unfit terriers...terriers that's gone from regular work to nothing at all for a month or so then back at it for a call out, it just never seems to go straight forwardNo need for terrier to be unfit or overweight a month or two after the season finishes unless you're the sort of person who leaves them sitting in a kennel through the summer. There's walking fit and working fit. I give mine a well deserved rest aft
