    I had a pure collie bitch a few years back that I signed a contract with the breeder that she must go back to her if rehoming. She cost me £300 as a pup, my plan was to bring her on til she was about 3 or 4 and if she was a good enough worker I would put a good greyhound over her to produce some collie/grey first crosses. In the end up I changed my mind and I returned her to the breeder as I feel if you give your word to do something like that you should honour it.     when you next run it only slip it on the rabbits you really think it has a chance of catching ones that are sitting well out on the lamp or better still take it ferreting and allow it to mouth a few in the nets, if it seems keen leave a few nets off the side bolt holes and stand the pup over the top of the warren, hoping for a bolt right in front of it. Under those circumstances, most young dogs will come good and grab the bunny first chance they get. Dont bother with rats, it may get bitten and put off even more. If you want to try it on rats do that at a later date once its catching bunnies

    walk the dogs first to let them toilet and warm up the muscles then jog them behind the motor or bike them for a few miles at first and a slow steady pace, building it up as the weeks go on to a few more miles and making sure wherever you do it is quiet, as free from traffic, other dog walkers, game etc

    if you have access to a magbox that will help speed up the healing process off lead outa control dogs are a nightmare! did you manage to find the owner and have they offered to pay the vet bill?

    I didnt NEED to tell David anything I thought it would be doing the lad a favour to have the background on the dog before cobra owned him but obviously that was the wrong move and Ive apologised for that to cobra privately and publically (see above) In future I will only be commenting on dogs I have seen running and wont comment on what close friends have told me unless ive seen it with my own eyes at the same time/place as them.     Thats not quite correct Benny he said if I was going to say something about Berti I should just write it on the open forum for everyone to see and I said no I pm David instead he was the only one who needed to know anyway as it was his bitch. What I did say was I foolishly got involved in passing on info on a dog I hadnt personally seen running, and its not a mistake I intend to repeat
