I think is great that your trying to re-home the dog, as i know a few people would just dump the dog, or worse. so far play, good luck re-homing.

I agree with above buy a 170, get the new dimmer there 30quid more, but it will be worth it. I don't know if you seen the thread on here about problems with lightforce, not the lamp but the wiring, i had problems with it once. There easly fixed. Its now into its third season, it takes a right old battering.I'm thinking off upgrading to a dimmer one shortly.

i don't have much knowledge about scopes, but i do have a mtc 6-24x56irs on my hmr, and i think its a great scope, i have had no problem setting it up or using it, (as a novice to scopes). There alot off guys on here which will give you alot more info.

I would say this already covered somewhere, but here goes, how many off you feed your dogs on the rabbits caught, and how do you give it to them. Do you skin the whole rabbit and feed it raw, or do you boil it then withdraw the meat. How do the dogs get on with the bones. i Assume they can't have them once cooked. The reason is i usually feed the ferrets the legs and keep the loins for myself, but as the young ferrts are starting to work well i have an abundance off rabbits, and the hmr is also sore on them. im sitting with 32 rabbits at the minute and there is only so much i need and the fer

There great pics, nice to see, you don't get much off that up round here, i've only ever seen it twice when i lived in england. Great keep them coming.

If your on about a pure breed, i would have to say whippet, as i do alot off rabbiting, but if it was a cross breed you could have, a whippet/greyhound. Just for that little bit more!
-
lovely looking pup what cross is he, keep us informed as how he gets on.

My bitch would not take a fox at all, she would course them all day but run round it, i had lost hope off taking the odd charlie, but while out ferreting one day a fox bolted out of the hedge i was ferreting, she was a changed dog, before i new what was happing she had it nailed. I made me a very happy man. Just give the dog time they can change over night.

Im the same as only a few lads on here, my dogs are fed early in the morning, usually 7-8 that way if i want to go out that night i can, i used to feed them daily at night but found they struggled with a lamp the following night. As the would not have been fed for 24 hours, and buy the time they got back its pushing 30-32 hours, Na can't see my dogs being at there best. But everyone has too know there own dog.

I had this problem last week the two hobs were very warm, i have them moved now but i discovered an egg out off the fridge seemed two cool them down as well as a basin with cool water. i just cooled them with the water then gave them the egg in a dish, they were coming around after that. I find they cool as quick as they heat has anyone else found this.

Everyone puts up there dogs so i thought i'd show you mine, the fawn dog i got for nothing this is her second season, last year was good so hopefully this one will be better, now she is working with the ferrets. I was told she was a collie/greyhoundxsaluki Not at 21 inches fully grown, i think someone was telling me porkies! but it doesn't matter she works well, on all quarry a want her for so i don't care. The second dog is a real lovely dog, hes a bull/whippet x greyhound, he's one off oldskools litter, hes 26inchs at the minute, big powerfull dog, he's on the lamp and is coming round to

Bringing on one off oldskool's pups at the minute, he's on the lamp and with my older bitch's they have had a fox(ireland). The bitch works with ferrets and will mark rabbits, but will scratch at a hole if a fox is at home, so hopefully the dog will come on the same. As long as they earn there keep and fill the pot i'm happy.Ill try and get a pic or two up off them.

I've always been told too go for the most outgoing.Well thats my 2p in anyway. It has worked for me so far. I would like to here everybody else's views as the wife wants a pup off my bitch next year.
-
:11: off course i know were that is, i'll have a ask about, buy the ads for free there are usually loads in it, but its very late in the year to be buying a pup?
-
Its very hard to get rid off dogs up here, you couldn't give pups away most off the time, my bitch cost me nothen, i turned up to have a look at the pups, priced a 50 quid, i had a good look at her as she caught my eye, the fella just sayed take her with you and if you want any off the others take them too. (just to get rid off them). Don't know aff any at the minute though. Were you from over here anyway? I'll have a mouch about and let you know.

didn't take the lurchers as i was on my own had wee charlie with me though he had a shake or two. Wasn't expecting the fox. Herbie coured a fox last week, it was a good course day time out off the rushes down at home there but it went to ground, he started to paw at he earth, but i have its postal address and number so i'll see him later.

Takes ages is an understatment, i put in for a variation in jan this year and i only got my rifle there on monday night, 6-7 months turn around here in the north. But i got it now. My wife has put in for her first shotgun there and god knows when that will come back it won't be this season that is for sure. Surely there can't be that many firearms certs to be done northern ireland isn't that big. Good luck though, hope you get yours faster than mine.

Headed out last night to try out the new rifle, the rifle is great, very accurate. Anyway i was on the hunt for a coney or two for the ferrets, spotted one sitting at the botton off a small hill around 120yds away, placed the cross hairs on it and the formidable pop told me the rest. The rabbit give a few small squeaks at which point this big cub came running out of the nearest hedge and straight to the rabbit. Then lifted the rabbit, i was having none off that so i sent him a wee present, he collected the present very well and dropped like a stone.I wish i had the camera with me then, because

Has anyone got a spare or no longer used Cz 17Hmr/22Wmr magazine knocking around the house, if you have, and No longer need it, give me a shout and i'll take it off your hands for you. (fee paid). Pm me. Thanks.
-
Speaking off guns, picked up my hmr last night, i'll give you shout for a plink.

i've got two albino rabbits, the local roundabout seems to have a abundance off them i think we counted 5 well now down to three, red eyes and all. there the only animal i've seen round here.
-
I have to agree with most off the lads on here, take the pup out by itself. A few sitters or even if they have been lamped quite a bit you should be fit to get some 10 or 15 yard slip's.

lightforce lamps are pure f*cking pish!
Morris replied to thurso jack's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
My first lightforce done the same, the whole wiring melted, (wondered why my back was getting so f**kin warm). I think it was caused by the cig connector moving about too much in its casing, when i got it rewired i taped it tight together with insulation tape, has not failed since. Do have some problems getting it to start charging though, have to fiddle with it. can't fault them apart from that though. -
I'm sure the keepers on here have heard this all before but i've just enroled on a game management course here in northern ireland, there are fewer keepered land over here than there is in england but if any body knew anyone looking for extra hands to help out around the shoot let me know, im trying to get a placement to work along side the course for two years. Thanks.
