  2. due to not enough time for them anylonger, my next door naighbur as 3 jills she wants to go to a good home, they are from working stock but have not been worked, they are 2 years old 2poly colourd and one albino, would like all three to go same home if possibal. please messege or call me on 01274878394 if u are intrested, im based in cleckheaton west yorkshire. ATB Danny
  3. 1 tip of intreduceing them if u havent already just left her in there with him, is to do it in a place he dont consider his own for a bit, then clean the court out and put them in there, keep an eye on them over the hour or so and then just go with ur instinks, he'l just be getting used to new smells and sorting out the pecking order tis all wont go for long, but rememeber what time of year it is and keep an eye on his balls and her vulva unless u want babys that is.
  4. looking at £64 here in dewsbury west yorkshire, anyon in this area that knows of somewhere cheaper and thats also good please do inform thanks
  5. that looks cool man, i have a simuler set up but without the slope, mine are in there all the time, just cut a peice of ply the same size as the opening on the bit that u would lift to get the eggs out of and drilled a 4" hole with the hole saw in it to let the ferrets get in and out dose the trick a goodun, oh and meshed the floor too, altho im changeing that soon as cos its a pain to get in and clean under the indoor bit. keep up the good work atb Danny
  6. not the best of pictures but heres my two vinnie and panda when i first got them at 6 and 8 weeks old, they are working just like my albinos and my poley colourd ones did at their age and are comeing on just fine, its not the colour its the time and effert put into them that makes a worker, u can pick up a none worker and get them to work just good as anyother with time spent on them. ATB Danny
  7. nice one Gaz glad they come along so great already, they deffo takeing after their mams and dad, glad they are tameing down loads too shows u must be doing something good with them and spending loads of ur time on them. 5 is a good number first time out and free fodder for the ferrts great stuff. I did say ud need more nets eh lol ul get sorted as u keep going and getting more usefull things u need, cant have everything all at once eh. ATB Danny

  10. I thort we disgused most of this while u was here, but then again i was proberly ramberling on eh lol ... ul need a fair few more nets for a starter id say 10 aint really enough just incase, a little bit of food a hour or so beffore u take them out should stop the lay ups, they will be ready to be enter later this munth if u feel comfy enough doing so (they are big enough to take a kicking if it comes to it), like already mentiond dont expect too much all at once, if they are owt like their parents then they will catch on in a few trips out, do the treat thing like i told u and a noise to attr
  11. thanks for the info guys, I think im going to be looking into the korthols griffon some more as its going to be a year or two beffore im ready for one, but i like to read up on things for a while too, and im also going to look into the gwp they look to get to about the same size of a lab too eh by the looks of pics, and il do some research on both for now. thnx again and atb Danny
  12. dam id of thort if they are bred to work then anyone breeding them would want them to go to working homes, and y not breed from them ur self, that aint upto the breeder, not that id be intrested in breeding unless i wanted a new pup when mine gets older. thats also a lot of money eh, but if u get what u want out of it then price aint everything. would i be right in thinking and saying that the wirehaird pointer is th same dog, or are they diffrant? I was intrested in the korthals griffon because i heard its only ment to get to about the size of a lab and that size is just about right for m
  13. Hi, just after a little bit of info on this breed of dog the korthals griffon, is there anyone on this site that owns them and works them? are they any good for pointing flushing and retrieving? most of all do they get on with kids well and other dogs and are they easy to train, I have seen a program about them that said yes to nearly everything, but theres nothing like a honyst answer from a owner. also dose anyone know of any breeders of these and a rough price? thnx ATB Danny
  14. welded mesh u buy at wickes for aviarys, the squere stuff, its great and harder for them to get threw, like said tho use plenty of stapples, like ul already know eh. if u need loads of it then i found a big big role on ebay way cheaper than in the shops but thats waitin for delivery too eh. atb Danny
  15. my best is 10, we dont go out for the numbers plus dont have ma own freezer yet lol, we go out for the fresh air the sport and to give the ferrets a run around, mind tho twos ma first season last year so mighten go for a few more this time ound seens i got a few more ferrets to play with.
  16. should be alright to start going octobour time mate, just small warrens mind tho, wouldnt be expecting much out of them eather, if u have an older experianced ferret to go with them then that would/could be a bonus. atb for ur new ones Danny
  17. u can get the land drainege from builders merchants, i paid 45quid for 80ft of the stuff, if ur wanting it just to lay on the floor, they are doing the m62 up at the moment and u can find loads of the orange stuff that aint ridged inside by the motoway bridges lol ... i have some land drain if ur only after a few foot of it as im still needin some for my nxt project, il proberly be buying anouther load of it after xmes. let me know if u can make it to cleckheaton for some if needs be
  18. I got my bew jill of some guy up in middlesbourgh, shes whiter than white altho i did get told by some old timer that theres no such thing as a white white one and they all had/have some sort of black hairs on them, she will be getting put into some light work this winter seens she will still only be young, theres plenty of folk out there working all types of colours of ferrets, its not the colour its how they work and where they come from that counts. forgot to put check preloved and petsclassifide theres loads and loads on just thos two sites.
  19. let me get this right, u bred u jill this year and she ate the babys? then right away u bred her again?
  20. oh darn i guess i better be carfull then eh, well I got my jill saturday night, she is gawjus and whiter than white, had one guy tell me "theres no such thing as a white white bew, i aint seen one in the 40 odd years iv been into ferrets and shown then" wish i had his email to send him a pic lol, well heres a pic of Panda and a pic of Panda and Vinnie together ... Panda Vinnie and Panda
  21. What dimensions would you need for 2 ferrets? What diameter pipes would you use? 4" pipe dose the trick, but u would have to eather use land drainege pipe as this is ridged inside and out, or do something to the inside of the smooth stuff for grip on slopes, as for the size of a court, it all gose on how much space u got and want to use or can use, but id say the smallest is atleast 4ft x 2ft, but i wouldnt bother building that out of block or brick.
  22. i was thinking of building my nxt one out of block for the first 2-3ft then wood frame on top, then filling in with top soil and sinking some pipes and drains for beds in to this then turfin it all, but the cost would be so high that would have to wait a long time for sure lol, can only dream for now ( unless someones got a spair cpl of hundred block lol )
  23. looking at 45quid to get a jill spayed at the vets i use
