  1. whats the differce in racing a ped some of the blokes racing have lurchers bred back to a greyhound for 6 generations at what stage does it become a greyhound and the same might be said about whippet racing here in Ireland seen some whippets standing as tall as the under 23 inch with no height limit or weight limit on whippets Sure if racing is your game just go with the flow and do what it takes to win and good luck to you
  2. Well done on this one hope it atracks a crowd a great bit craick great to see the kids getting involved
  3. May be I am being silly here But here goes in the interest of the blokes and ladies with 4 or more lurcgers whippet terriera etc why cant they pay for a conession stamp on the their hand this set at a price giving them dicount in the show ring enabling them to afford to show their dogs after all the rossette for first and reserve still cost the same if there is 1 dog or 12 in the ring
  4. Im not saying how wonderful I am racing anf showing my dogs. what i am saying is that us folks that do show and race our dogs do need new incentives and ideas as the shows are getting less and less every year and soon down the line theyl be nothing there for us to go to.If you think its too expensive as someone else has previously said on here if you don't like it don't go.. I'll go too any expense for mi dogs..You'l not be piking my bill so all's good..And Im not a trophy hunter..I know people who are but that's not me..I do it for the days crak and to give the dogs a wee run too... if i win
  5. Dannyboy Dont come on here telling us to stop whinning and how wonderful you are racing and show your dogs with the min of 2 hour journey if I think it is too expensive too show the dogs and wish to say that is my right freedom of speech and all that fair play if you only race and trophy hunt that is entirly up to you and I am not telling you any different wont like to pick your bill up for birr between fuel entry in the show and 7 dogs to show and race
  6. Dannyboi I am so pleased that u can afford to fill the car van what ever with diesel and travel 2 hours you must have a well paid job I work hard all week if I can get a full weeks work And I am sure I am not the only one getting it tight with money in this climate I work my lurchers in the winter andcant afford to spend my summer and my money hunting rosettes and watch the dogs bag chase you must do plent of lampin ferretin etc to have 7 dogs and work them all and keep them fit in the winter months
  7. I was for .' taking 3 of my dogs with us the price of petrol the overnight stays the entry fee to race and show the 3 dogs it would be cheaper to have have a holiday in sunnier climate ''''Give it a by ball

  10. Well done getting back to us on this Albert But as always there is two sides to this coin Ok we have no need to enter any or all the classes I think some of the classes are ott ie gentleman handler how is this judged by the dog by the handlers dressage or be cause he is the judges mate the same goes for lady handler and the and at 5 euro a pop On the plus side at least you have decentcy put all the prices on here and are totally up front There is very few shows if any that do this Prehaps thhey should follow your example on this

  13. Dukie, That is the decision of those show organisers but what we have CONCENTRATED ON and will continue to do so is to give the terrier & lurchers their proper place amongst the other competitions with now equivalent or better competition prize structure while at the same time offering them a two shows for the price of one concession for Ballywalter and Shanes Castle. £10 for two events - can anyone tell me what game or country fairs offer terrier & lurcher owners ACTUALLY ENTERING the Fairs better admission rates? For Shanes and Birr we also offer Terrier & Lurcher owne
