    A wee quieries Albert Is it possile to enter a dog in the under 21 and have the same dog entered in the under 23 inch ?In the novice terrier race how much terrier does the dog need to have example can a terrier whippet g/hond bred back to g/hond enter? And is the whippet racing for kc papered dogs only?

    To have a whippet class at all is opening the age old question what is a whippet and not a whippet TangoI do n ot think it fair to put someone on the spot and have them to pass judgement on what is a whippet and what is not a whippet who would take on that task? Paris looks more like a whippet than some of the KC bred I would go as far to say Ernie would pass as a full bred whippet. Keep in mind that some of the people with dogs have bought them being told they are whippets some oweners have rescue dogs with no idea of the blood lines so for them to be told to get their dog of the start

    Enough of what is a whippet what is not a whippet an under 21inch class all in This debate has been going on.since whippet racing was introduced Racing them as under 21 might promote the strong working type rather than the wee KC show type that stand and shiver.And give the guys with the wee small rabbit dogs such as whipprt crosses chance to run their dogs Not all can afford to pay £300 plus for a ped whippet

    Can anyone remember back to when a terrier- collie -bull cross any sort of dog that was not race bred won a rave here ? If you want to be in the winning ciircles a race bred is the only way to go FULL STOP that's the way it is At least if a dog is working in the field catching a few rabbits that's fair enough to get beat by a working dog. Rather than some of the dogs have chased f##k all but a bag.And were coats if the wind blows .

    Can't see the problem with running nonpeds the McCoy racing have been winning races for years with a trailer full of nonpeds I am sure there is quite a few more being run at the events

    I wonder if all the titles ie all Ireland champion And the prestigious trophies and cash And raced for bag of meal and a rosett or voucher for £10-£20 out of one of the hunting or doggy stalls at the game fair , would this stop some of the bitching ? .All this and we have not got even got on to what's a whippet and what's not a whippet.. here we go again happy racing 2012 guys LOL

    I don't think it maters too much what you run as long as the the dog in question dos'nt win .This topic has run it's self out will never be sorted There is no solution that is going to please everyone . Tango is taking the right stance on this one.Lurcher racing is for lurchers .

    How can the be full whippets if one is bred the same as Paris the other the bred out of Zola Pasis or Zola are not whippets .

    A whippet winning over all beating the overs and unders , So much for a whippet not being able to compete in with the lurchers not only was this one compitive but fastest dog in the event if they are able to compete and beat nonpeds why a whippet class ?

    Thats what we all love about this wee fourm a place to come and and speak to people of a very high intellect so open minded and discreet with their opinons being careful not to offend each other .     Don't know what the big deal is if someone works their dog or not it is completely up to themselves is their a rule somewhere that says to go to a game-fair you have to work your dogs ?The only problem I see is a dog that is not working being showed in the working class. If every dog at the shows were working there would be very little leaft in the field The few that show and race and don't hunt ,the more game that is leaft in the field For the folk that do work their dogs .     The only show where the people racing their dogs. Get to drive the lure was there no one from the club able to drive the lure ? NO WAY SHOULD SOMEONE WITH A DOG IN THE RACE BE DRIVING THE LURE Just having a cuppa and sortin the dogs after lamping While some of this crowd sat in and polished their trophies .

    12 luchers raced 6 overs 6 unders Humphries with 2 McCoys with 3 dogs leavind another 7 dogs from the 32 counties ONE DOG PER THREE COUNTIES..... IS THE SHOW WORTHY OF THE TITLE 32 COUNTY CHAMPION. I DON'T THINK SO In the whippets there were 6 may-be they should have been spilt KC and non kc It was a F**king joke

    Was not there but heard there was 12 lurchers running John had China and the big dog The McCoys had 3 dogs so there was 7 other dogs. Is this show worthy of the title 32 county? IT'S A JOKE
