Quiet, and I mean quiet observation preferably with the naked eye is all you need, practice makes perfect, why spend money when you can(if your serious)develop your fieldcraft skills to improve your performance and that of your hound.

I have a 19.5 inch Moonlake bred whippet bitch, she is now 5.5yrs old but can still account for puss. Because the land I work is varied between pasture and moorland and is "hunted up" law does not enter the equation. Sometimes the're run off seat but mainly are hunted before being run, courses last between 2mins and 4 or 5 mins from picking up scent.
