not without crossing them.tough little fckrs beagles i'm in n wales and the past couple of years we've had -16 but not phased them in any way when out or in the kennels and they will push through the tightest cover on a scent thick skinned hounds are comes from hundreds of years being outside don't think their coat could get better.can't see any benefit in crossing different sized hounds use one or the other cos there is no way the size of the crossed litter can be forseen.atb t410 -

nice to get a supply of meat from somewhere we get frozen minced turkey from an aquaintance now and then it fckn stinks when being boiled,i would give it raw but it is half blood so i honestly don't trust it it is stamped unfit for human consumption so i will assume its kebabed up in the city centres on a saturday night (serves the fckrs right)for going out on the piss now i don't -

sorry to ask buster but what do you gain by feeding your hounds every other day.? mine get dry every day plus all the scraps and the wife gives them a touch on a morning they are'nt going out as well. i know we all have different reasons to do what we do but i think the keep em mean feeding is more likely to make them pick up shite in the field.? i am not questioning your methods i just don't see it myself. i remember a lad up the alley telling me he missed a days feeding every now and then because a bloke in the pub told him it would be good for his pet terrier ffs i soon put him straight.a -

great little pack you have there your red and white in pic 3 looks the spit of my copper. is it a bitch or dog.?
-
agree there a beagle or any hound that does'nt speak when hunting is'nt much use because you will never find them or know which direction they are going your lurcher must be fit as fck to keep up with a pack of hounds or do you use them just for bushing? mine forget about everything else once they pick a fox up. get some photo's of your pack up.atb t410.

daphne moore the "book of the foxhound" "hunt and working terriers" captain jocelyn m. lucas m.c. for something different and memories of yesteryear for him. not about hunting but village life "me dads the village blacksmith" and "following me dad" alf strange are brilliant reads about yesteryear in shropshire well worth a look.

the sound of them speaking across a valley or through the forestry is a joy to hear and as for their ability to work once they pick something up be prepared for a long day out would'nt be without them the only advice i would give is if you wan't to watch footy at 5.30 on a saturday don't take them out cos they seem to know

sorry lads ive only worked/owned my hounds for 4 years so still learning myself and don't feel qualified to be giving advice out,you need to get yourselves to a local footpack and watch them work and get involved if you are invited too but i use mine on rabbits with no problems and they will mark a burrow for ferreting, the urge to hunt in them is strong and they will pick anything up when out so a bit of discipline is needed too.
-
yeh he's a beagle and no they are'nt stupid just a bit stubborn while they are being brought on i take it these ppl who call them stupid have never owned or worked them.more experts down the pub.?
