hi niall,i think you are better sticking to the shallow bays at this time of year as the pike wiil be moving into shallow water getting ready for spawning,there is a big comp on at lough key next weekend,big prizes to be won, yeah i had been keeping my eye on that competition on the web site link you sent me but now as it happens i have relatives coming over from england the same weekend so kinda throws a spanner in the works. i had hoped to get down for a look about the same weekend. i seen a couple of pics of very nice pike, i think it was you and your mate that was up here that day.

great info cheers lads! will be getting a pair before start of next season, is it best to get both the same sex? and just hope my beddy whippet doesnt get jelous lol!! get same sex if you don't want to breed,try and get them soon so that they have plenty of handling and they get used to dog and the dog gets used to them atb

Did you Lose it as in Died or as in can't find it? As most will be thinking, Get a Locator You surely can't just walk away from a ferret that didn't come back out of a hole? I'd not be able to sleep right knowing my ferret was out ther ion it's own, and i'd not be thinking, oh well i'll go get myself another If you meant lost as in died, then i'm sorry if i got it wrong. surely you must have some idea what you were doing?you can't just go out with a ferret ,stick it down a hole and hope it comes back,theres alot more to it than that.

well we thought she was pregnant so we was feeding her a bit more and then it turnt out to be a fake pregnancy or something (vet explained,She is game for food scraps ,Nah ive been taking her for long runs/walks and shes lost quite a bit now.another month and she should be back in shape. yeah keep giving her the exercise and less scraps,not nice to see a dog over-weight,not fair on the dog either,this is one of my pet hates.atb

Dont use your ferrets mate you will spoil them, and a chance of them getting killed too. yeah mate ,they have only just got their first season rabbiting under their belts,i don't do any ratting ,just that i have these wee feckers out the back and the dog goes mad when she see them and the wife goes mad aswell.lol At least when you trap them you know you have them, the field behind my house is littered with dead ones, I dont have any problems near the house, its just the garden near the ferrets and compost heap. i had suspected for a few days now that there were rats along a ditch at the back of my house and between my neighbours house,what will be the best way to get rid of them?i have 2 ferrets but i don't want to use them .

even if there was a vet on here he wouldn't give you a diagnosis without seeing the dog first,get him to a vet to get checked out,hope he is ok, atb

hi mate , not having a go, but if you don't know the gestation period of your ferret i don't think you should be breeding,not yet anyway,get info on it first(alot).wait until next season when you will be well clued up hopefuly,but for now i would seperate them(if it's not to late)get your jill covered by a v hob or take her to the vet and give her jill jab,hope this helps,best of luck whatever you decide

hi, was just wondering what other ferreters do to get there ferrets into shape after they have had a rest during the summer(probably a bit early for this).do you start getting them ready a couple of weeks before?maybe change their diet,more exercise ect. i have just finished ferreting my first season,would be interesting to know how others get their ferts ready atb
