  3. cheers for that thought i was probably over doing it, will add more fat, think i will have a play with my gsd on the lamp. i would be careful if you feeding raw rabbit cos they seem to carry of lot of worms if you feeding raw rabbit yu can garantee that your dog has worms, i would worm dog straight away and change rabbit for tripe and that should liven your dog up after week or so all the best bill thanks for that i always freeze my rabbits for 3 weeks before feeding, so hope fully any worms should be dead, i have found a sack of skinners field and trial superior it has 30 % protein

  6. Matt give me a ring mate,, i will take the bitch back if you want she can keep her sister company,, . Her mother was a slow starter as i have said,,,she was best from 3 to 7 years old,, shes 10 now and was out running stuff keen as even not last nigh but the night before,,, there is a fair dose of deerhound blood in the line,, which are renowned slow starters,, but beleave me when they come good they come good,, they are a dog for life,,,,,, Matt i wil take her back no messing,, but i would urge you too keep hold of her mate,,, leave here off till next season and let the bitch mature,, no
  7. just wandered how much protein you are feeding your dogs if they are in work most nights for 2/3 hours, ive had a read on the net and they have said 28/30 %, i have been feeding a complete food with 22% protein twice a day , and also half a raw rabbit, but like tonight she has left the rabbit and only picked the meal, i also add a large spoon of meat fat mixed on the meal. We have stayed in tonight as i feel she is not running on full par, and she is asleep on the settee during the day she mooches around the farm at will, am i asking to much of her ? she is 17 mth old.
  8. same here very few rabbits, last night on some of my big fields there was not one about. but i did see my first deer in with the sheep ! had to look twice
  9. i no how you feel, we run are own sheep and my gsd went down the road and took out 3 of our neighbours sheep , it cost me a fair bit for the sheep ! the youngster was the main culprit , the older two would show no interest in the sheep if i was there, i ran my sheep into the yard and brought the dogs in , if they showed the slightest interest i gave them a scat, so far so good. but i would never trust them again . if there is a next time afraid it will be there last.

  15. just got in two bunnies and some great turns, the little bitch cleared a 5 bar gate from a stand still and when i was on top of the hedge scanning the next field she saw a rabbit did a flying leap over the stock wire, i lost my slip rope but it was only a home made one, but at least she was ok. think i am getting obsessed with this rabbiting game, hubbie has gone to bed in a huff !! shame lol
