Just heard on the radio 27 people due in court in the new year.Arrested in the Boston area lucky for us there,s no real crime so they can spend thousands chasing round after a few dogs.I have a fair bit of land round Boston but still spend all my time looking over my shoulder. They are starting a new campaign against hare coursing .The 30 I caught last week were all killed legally honest.

i was looking for that tread, think theirs a lad meeting up with him next week 2 see how the super pup runs , malc1 never said anything about a super pup,but you sound like a right f**king prick. well it must be a super pup catching rabbits at 3 1/2 months ,and if any 1 prick its you and him for thinking you can run a dog that young recipe for disaster! Poor f****r won't last half a season and will more than likely end it's carier before it's old enough for it to begin. As i was gona say, number 1 reason for a dog jacking.>> ''THE FOOL HOLDING THE LEAD!'' << Sp

so what do you think mate are people wasing there time with bull x's and we should all get alsation x's coz there the way forward. people need to get out there and catch large bags regular to understand what it takes for a dog to be a good dog. i judge a dog buy what it catches at the end of the week not by the size of its head. yeah thats easy to say pal if its rabbits your catching what do you call a large bag of something that bites back for your type of cross compared with bull cross types ?? you have to remember not everyone is into catching rabbits in large bags i still think th

A statement born from true ignorance..........A well bred bull cross can be a very versitile dog........ A well bred any x can make a versatile dog

I bought a pup approximately 5 months ago she,s now almost 7 months old .I,v been informed that a sister of this bitch has come into season ,she comes from very good lines not that it makes any difference to the subject in hand but it does mean that if this was a trait in the breeding of the sire or dam, considering where most of these dogs go the kind of job they do it would be common knowledge has anyone had or know of this turning up in lines out of the blue.I know that there is no solid rules in the genetics of dog breeding. In my own experience if the dam is an 8 monthly cycle so are the pu

I can,t judge a dog that I,v not seen but any dog with the right training, after bonding with a human they trust, can be encouraged to attack and hold or kill if possible almost any animal found in the UK . I would,nt be to quick to blame the dog.

flucloxacillin.antibiotic
fieldsman replied to all.rounder's topic in Working Dog Health & Training Talk
They are fine to use on dogs amoxacillin fluclox for deeper infections and erythomycin for shallow or skin ifections all used on people and dogs, for dogs use a lower dose. -
ring your vet and ask for a bottle of ferric chloride it will stop bleeding instantly. just apply with kitchen towel or tissue paper.

Yes rip Tink What breed mate? Whippet dog broke his neck running a rabbit through trees just didnt slow the gap was way to small for him to fit through same dog ran a hare on the a17 for a full 2 mins no pads left but the next day while talking to a local farmer he some how pulled the front window of the car down an ran and caught another hare the mess had to be seen not many dogs would have wanted to walk let alone run IMO TO much drive makes for a short working life this dog was also crazy when he came across fox,s he was,nt realy big enough for them but it didnt stop him.

Spot one whippets the best rabbit dogs by far. I love that kind of reply. You can't generalize whole breeds. The 'best' rabbit dogs come in any one of a number of shapes and forms. There are great whippets, beddy x, collie x, saluki x whippet x grey, bull x, deerhound x, bitzas.. . . . .. .. Opinions were asked for I gave mine I didnt realise we were living in a totalitarian state I,ll be sure to ask you my opinion in future so I get it right that way you can save time disagreeing with other peoples opinions .If thats alright with you .

Being flat footed doesn,t mean its got bad feet Ive got a dog good breeding but flat feet has run on every ground you could test him on .Some of his runs have taken him onto tarmac roads apart from skin removal and shatterd nails no problems ive dogs with cat feet that seem to stub their toes and some that dont the only dog that I can say has never had a problem is a bitch whippet on any ground I put this down to her light weight I can run her on any land and still work her the next day not once has she had a problem with her feet. She will probably break her leg now Ive said that .

Had he been kenneled with another dog ,is he house trained if he was bring him in they love human company more than most dogs, was his kennel significantly different to the one he,s in now I.E warm less of a draft more homely bones are not a sub for the warmth of another dog ,just a few things to think about hope it may help in some way.nothing worse than a miserable dog.JMHO.

agree but would you willingly slip the dog or not not my dog think to much of him to break his neck lost a dog on plough many years ago learnt my lesson mate you can slip a dog in a cow field you dont no where it will end up iv'e seen them run down the a17 Ive seen my own on the a17 and Ive had one killed on the a17 to far away to call of.But dogs running at speed can come to grief anywhere I was told of a dog that died running a rabbit along a ditch and as it struck a reed entered its mouth went through the roof into its brain died instantly .Yes I do run on plough, in lincol

How many times does this same topic get dragged over if someone tells you they enter a dog at 6 months they dont know a great deal about running dogs .Dogs mature at different ages but if you spend the first year training it not only will it be a pleasure to work the rest of its life but its life is more likely to be a longer one just my opinion for what its worth. The few people Ive been out with who constantly told me their dog could do it all at 6,7,8 months old seem to be the same people screaming and shouting the dog or looking for whatever it killed because they spent so much time trying

I agree I had a whippet a few years back the breeder had given calcium suppliments and it caused no end of problems its legs my vet said to much calcium causes growth spurts causing bends in the legs came right in the end but the dog seemed slow in comparision to my other dogs .As an older dog he had problems he broke his legs seemingly very easily he had to be pts as a ten year old
