    Go on ebay you can get a lamp for 30 or 40£ then get a JCB 17 ah battery they give you 14 volts instead of 12 it makes loads of differance its as bright as being plugged in the fag socket of a car .I use one and it lasts all night with a 2 million candlepower 100watt bulb.

    A lot depends on the condition of the bitch if you work her hard and keep her tight,Very little fat on her it can delay her season,I had a Whippet that did,nt come in till she was 4 I put it down to the fact she carried no extra and because of the amount of land and rabbits I had at the time she ran every day she came in at 4 when she had an injury that put her out of action for a while alowing her to put a bit of weight on.Comeing into season made her ill I had to take her to the vets she had a raging temperature and went of her food .The vet thought the same as I did the lack of body fat had

    I often find them like that it is caused by idiots shooting them up the arse when they are to far away,then they call coursing cruel bunch of old farts that should,nt be let out with a gun.

    Yes they can I was told by my vet to get my hare jabbed for mixy.

    Iv had and bred Whippets for 30 years and although they do have their short falls eg ,not so hot on deep plough long thick grass reeds some crops,they also have many good points so much so that I have always got one. I could never see myself without one.I run sal xs from good lines but sometimes a very good whippet will do things that make you wonder if you need a bigger sort.

    You can vaccinate your own dog I can buy them from my vet for about 12£ I,m sure he would have said if it was illegal.

    Deer x Whippet put to a Saluki x Irish Terrier just to be different,also not to big but with plenty of drive.

    Why is it you seem to hear the same things repeated the dogs this the dogs that this kind of dog does this or that,or a realy good one is you,v been lucky none of yours have been like it , the only thing problem dogs seem to have in common is owners that don,t have a clue and it always the dog that pays the ultimate price.What a complete TW8T.Dont go getting another until you,v been on a basic dog training course.

    I would,nt go giving her milk it will make her stools loose as cow milk is not good for dogs.When she,s whelped give her as mush good grub as she will eat if you want to supplement her diet with milk get a good animal replacement milk specially formulated for dogs I feed mine on pet mince from the butcher as well as cooked game rabbit hare venison liver and chicken all good grub that can be obtained for a few £ the game is free as you should have caught a bit during the season.I start the pups on fresh minced beef as soon as they will take it sometimes as young as 3 or 4 weeks make sure not t

    Yes make them 1/2 as good as they are now.

    If they realy want them they will turn up with a sharp garden fork or a catty and make your dog a wreck the only sure way to make sure they are safe is to never let them out of your sight easier said than done I always take my best with me in the truck if i,m going out for a long time and no one is home any of the others will soon be dropped back when they find how crap they are.

    If I told her to kill it she would as long as I,m somewhere about they all leave it alone there,s 7 dogs round her all the time, once I fell asleep with it in the house I woke about 3 hours later thinking the worst but they all left her alone that even surprised me as it usually takes eye contact to make sure of her safety.All my dogs leave things alone when told I could,nt put up with a dog out of control .Living near main roads they have to stop when told I have lost a couple that were out of earshot and ran under traffic it makes you more inclined to take their training to a higher level th

    No it,s not a wind up .A car in front of me hit the mother last year I stopped and picked her up she was heavily pregnant and died within a minute of being run over they were born by c-section just after I put them straight on the mum there was 4 to start but they are very difficult to raise and 3 died after a couple of weeks.I could,nt let her go now she,s completely imprinted and has no fear of dogs or people .The only reason she,s in a run in the garden is if left she would go next door and be killed by their dogs.She spends most of her time chasing the dogs round the house and is my other

    You can,t get caught if you don,t break the law as long as you have permission to be on the land and your intention is to catch rabbits or kill hare with a bird you are within the law the fact that your dog cannot tell the difference between a rabbit and a hare is not your fault and you are not breaking the law if your intention is to take rabbits but hare are caught by accident it would be impossible to prove otherwise in a court even if your dogs killed 20 hare .Intent in these circumstances is not provable one way or the other unless you admit your intention was to kill the hare with your d

    I know it,s a long shot considering this is a hunting site but has any one got a male brown hare I have a female and was thinking of breeding she,s going mental at the moment I think she,s gagging for it.She,s usually very calm but in the last few weeks she,s turned into a monster boxing biting and kicking side effects to being in season I think.Here,s hoping.Thanks for looking.Fieldsman.

    This one of mine always looks skinny but she can go out cover 3 or 4 miles then get home and still be bouncing round like a loony .Her energy seems endless come next year i,ll see what she can take before showing signs of tiring.
