  1. Oh a pitter patter should have no problem with this fox. Coons are nasty buggers, I had a 40 pound boar take on both my little mutt and my cat lol. Biggest one I have seen in my life, however if I had my patterdale(r.i.p) with me the scene would have ended much differently. What size coons do you usually work? Sound like you have a great dog.
  2. Oh I should have clarified that I didn't hunt this fox, a mate sent me this telling me how it would eat my little mutt up. Underground I agree the fox should not be at any real advantage, I was referring to an open field. Here is another image of the fox but it is at an angle that makes the quarry appear larger (an old hunting trick I'm sure some of us have all been guilty of doing at one point in are lives) cheers
  3. nice dog, shame she was killed. What happened if you don't mind me asking.
  4. Enjoy, this is a big ass fox. I'm sure it would be the final boss for any working terrier lol

  6. I wouldn't dismiss your dogs, what game do they typically prey on? A friend of mine owned a dog that he deemed "shit" because it could not deal with coons, well the dog turned out to be great against foxes and even a bobcat. Perhaps the style in which the coons fight threw the terrier off to much. Some dogs are better at particular game than others.
  7. Even tho I've heard of a terriers to take on badger(European) and i'd take on mink any day. Badger take time to kill let alone beat down whereas mink can be killed with a bit of shaking. Unlike mink a badger evolved to get the shit beaten out of it, in nature they boss other animals around at kills of feeding sites. Here a series of photos I believe are safe, just a russell terrier hanging onto a mink, no fighting/kill. In Norway where it is legal
  8. I think a terrier can kill mink single handily, not a doubt in my mind. Perhaps the terrain makes a difference, a mink out in the open or a mink in a pile of rocks is fair game if not outright screwed; in the water I have no problem imagining a mink clawing the shit out of a terrier struggling in the water, god forbid. The jaws of the mink is not what i would be worried about, instead the ability to manipulate its' body in various angles which make allows it to bite while being bite,. Regardless, a good shaking should be the end of a mink, especially on the neck or abdomen. I have pho
