ferrets escaped any ideas how to get them back!!
taffy apple replied to lamping_dave's topic in Ferrets & Ferreting
try not to worry yourself too much buddy, one of my old hobs used to go missing quite often, would run away when i was playing with him in the garden..one time he was away for 5 days...my neighbour usually used to find him laying under her shed after ripping up her flowerbeds...shes in her eightys now and still talks about him...this was about 15 yrs ago...ferrets know how to look after themselves and will generally return when theyre hungry enough...just do as your doing and leave smelly food for them to help them home...the juice from tpms braught my last jill back within 15 minuits...good l -
my ferrets have eaten chicks for years and love em...not sure how many to feed them though, i just give em a cock a day till they run out (normally about 5 days) but also put a handfull of buiscuit in too...

hello all, i was wondering how many people run bedlington crosses on the lamp or for that matter any other less common type crosses...ie not collie, bull or saluki types...photos of your pride and joys would also be good...and to all the nobbers on here, please.....dont comment unless you have something valid to add...eg, its obvious that a salukix will have more stamina and the collie will have more brains etc, not interested in getting one, just interested in their merrits and a few photos...

"return of the eagle owl" anyone see it last night?
taffy apple replied to danny boi's topic in Falconry
you can also add that they kill chickens as one had one of my old mans birds 2 days ago...he went to check the stock and they were all hiding apart from one which was still twitching on the floor, ran up to it and seen featheres everywhere, he was looking all around for the culprit but couldnt see anything for a fair distance...then he looked up and there was an eagle owl in the tree watching his every move...old man was not happy i can tell you... -
mmmmm did nt see rest of lakie owners leaving the ring before being judged myself included, and we all knew tupac would be pretty much up there under darren cashmore at nwtf but none of us left the ring, well until we were kicked out that is AND we all predicted tupac would win under mick mills but still we all stayed in the ring..they are all predictions but some just spit the dummy was there on the day and wouldnt say that dc spat the dummy out at all...it was more the fact that the colour of the dog was pre-determined and he didnt see the point in wasting his time standing in the ring whe

6 mts at moment so wont be ready till next season... -
simple answers are that as a general rule, for a terrierman, you will not beat a bull x....for a hare man you will not beat a saluki x... and as an alrounder ferreting/mouching there are the other lurcher breeds...horses for courses all bullshit aside we are all into different types of hunting,so we will all prefer different xs of dogs...i will agree that the chav brigade do portray a very bad image to the public with their dogs, but weve all been young and nieve and hopefully when they mature they will actually be an asset to the hunting community rather than a thorn in our side...as for best

Live Fox Trap - Recommendations?
taffy apple replied to smokingdragon's topic in Snaring, Trapping & Pest Control
good tip about the wire ties - getting them used to the trap! think about it...let the fox get used to the trap, do you think that if youleft it open then if it was getting used to the trap and happened to take the bait it would save you a few days..also some foxes refuse to take a hung chicken from a trap as its not natural for them to find chickens/bait hung ready for them...sometimes its better to alter the trap so that the bait can be left laying in the floor and then the foxfinds it less suspicious...just a suggestion... -
