  1. They have had a fairly decent write-up in some of the on-line reviews. Had a quote at Costco for Michelin Tyres supplied and fitted at £174+VAT each. They won't mix the tyres as it does something to the diff's meaning that they will only initally change 4 tyres first. Someone tell me it is going to be ok !!!!
  2. Just bought a Nissan Pathfinder Adventura '57' Plate Auto with only 20k on the clock from a main dealer for visiting customers/sales calls and family holidays !!! It won't be my day to day workhorse and will do about 4-5k per annum. Does anyone else have one and how do you find it to drive / off road etc. Thanks in advance
  3. I tried for the program to come across as best and understanding as possible. This is the first time I have been infront of the TV camera. I was a bit upset that alot of the interview on camera was cut. My main points were the fox's welfare and the reason why foxes trapped must not be relocated and dumped which were not shown. This would have educated the public why urban foxes cannot be taken out of their area and dumped in a foreign environment. I was glad that the point of ensuring water was poured into the dish in the trap was shown clearly for welfare purposes.
  4. If you are dispatching foxes in a trap, a .22lr would be ok. I have a .22lr rifle & pistol on my ticket with the wording "For the humane dispatching of foxes in CAGE TRAPS". A .410 shotgun would also be appropriate to dispatch a fox humanely in a TRAP. If you are talking about shooting them at a distance, you will need a centrefire to be humane, not cruel. Best advise is to speak to you Firearms Enquiry Officer and see what he or she is prepared to let you have. Did anyone watch Countryfile last Sunday ????
  5. At least the cub had experienced what it was like to have a coat !!!!! The cubs I have been trapping and dispatching in London for the past few weeks have not had a hair on their bodies, totally covered in sarcopic mange looking more like smegal from Lord of the Rings, rather than a fox !!!!
  6. Another good show this year. £15.00 per adult.......... price is going up
  7. Perfect trapping advice for everyone. Pre-baiting works wonders if you have the time to do so. It really pays dividends.
  8. Good advice Earth. Rigid traps are the best. Flat pack traps can be a bit flimsy if being used on a regular basis. Make sure you know what you are going to do with your trapped fox once you have caught it. You don't want to break any animal welfare legislation, especially if it is riddled with mange.
  9. Monkey Nuts and crunchy nut peanut butter works very effectively
  10. Traps for urban foxes everytime. Then a quick dispatch can be preformed. I use .22 eley sub sonics through a moderated rifle or pistol. Only problem is if you get a 'rougue' company release them, the foxes themselves show signs of 'trap-shyness'. The last resort is a night shoot from a 1st floor window into the back garden. A daylight survey should always be carried out to establish arks of fire, boundaries, back stops and ground type. Local Police ought to be informed in order to prevent any misunderstandings. I always get a reference number from the Police control r
  11. Search is over......... Just found out that the Edenbridge & Oxted show is on in Lingfield, Surrey.
  12. Does any one know of any good Country Show's / Game Fairs being held on the Bank Holiday Monday on August the 30th around SE Englands / M25 area? Thanks in advance.
  13. I don't know if you run a professional pest control company, but I have great success using Ratimor 0.005% Bromadiolone Pasta 15g sachets supplied by Killgerm Chemicals. Its great for both rats and mice, very palatable, moist, attractive vanilla smell and contains mummyfying agents in order to help reduce malodours created by decaying bodies. http://www.killgerm....p.php?group=725
  14. Website looks good. I hope you don't upset any small Pest Control Businesses that do what you are planning to do for a living.
  15. If you were working in a school, as I do I'm not talking about wearing it down the pub or in Tesco's. Demonstrating 'due dilegence' on sensitive sites such as schools in this day and age is important.
  16. When will the Home Office get round to upgrading the old fashion paper certificate. A driver's license style ID would be more practical with a paper counterpart for recording ammunition purchases. For what they cost to produce; when a variation goes in, the Firearms Licensing office can destroy the old and produce a new card. It would last for longer, be better in the field and could even be displayed if necessary in a ski lift pass holder on your arm (if required). What with all the modern technology, you would have thought they would have got something in the pipeline?
  17. That's really good to hear. I am very impressed with Hertfordshire Constabulary and the way their FEO's and admin staff conduct themselves.
  18. I do not agree with drowning the squirrel as an air pellet in the head would have been more humane. What vet is going to have a thick pair of leather gloves and agree to inject a crazy grey squirrel. It would rip their face off if it escape's in the vets. Grey Squirell's are pests but still need to be dispatched swiftly and humanely. The RSPCA is a charity, NOT A GOVERNMENT AGENCY AND HAVE NO POWERS. FULL STOP. Animal Welfare Legislation, Laws and professional Code of Conduct must be followed.
  19. I got my Section 5 (pistol) FAC on an 'open ticket' on my first application only for "The Humane dispatching of foxes in traps". I did have to sit through a 3 hour written statement interview which was submitted to the Chief Constable with my application. My 6 years in the Army (with references) may have helped my application as I had already had plenty of 'hands-on' experience on and off ranges and in different places with a whole variety of firearms. On receipt of my certificate, I then put a variation straight in to get my .22lr Ruger 10/22. I could prove my reasons of requi
  20. A wasp product company called Waspbane, based near Cambridge have a seminar soon www.waspbane.com
  21. If you are a Pest Control Officer or small/medium Pest Control Company within the M25 London and need any help with urban fox control, please consider either using me as a sub-contractor or pass me the enquiry and if it is converted, I will pay you commission. Alternatively, if you trap yourself, I can provide a on-site dispatch service. Just let me know before hand to make sure I am not in Barbados !!! (Only joking). As a professional pest controller, you wouldn't consider 'dumping' them elsewhere. I hold an 'open' ticket, CRB (Enhanced) checked for educational facility attendanc
  22. Came across these bogs in Bosnia in 1995. When you flush them..... stand back or you get your feet soaked !!!!!!
