  1. Sorry it's off-topic but I just wanted to create awareness. Hello all and Merry Christmas. For all of you from the Herts/Essex and London area, you will know of the Roding Armoury (Abridge, Essex) and the fantastic service and gunsmithing skills provided by brother's Phil & John. Phil carries out a lot of repairs for other gunshops around the UK. Your Rifle / Shotgun may at some point have been repairer by Phil. Unfortunately, Phil is not at all well and it look's like he will be in hospital for a while. Not a good time of year to be in hospital either. To cheer Phil
  2. If you are just bunny bashing, I would be biased to recommend a Ruger 10/22 Semi Auto with SAK moderator and bipod. Great fun on a Sunday afternoon. Eley Sub's are very good.

To cheer Phil up, I thought it would be a nice gesture to get him some 'Get Well
  4. I am strongly looking at the Theoben Mk1 Rapid 7. having used on in the past when I worked for Rentokil. On way home I stopped at Tesco. Walked down the magazine ilse and what's on the front cover of Airgun World........ "The new FX Verminator MKII". Why does this have to be so hard
  5. Thanks all. I have used a Theoben Rapid 7 .22 air rifle many years ago when I worked for Rentokil. A very nice and powerful air rifle. Will add it to the short list. Target's did drop when hit with the Rapid 7.
  6. Apart from my Urban Fox Control business where I use a .22 LR Rimfire; I do a fair bit of Feral Pigeon Shooting work. I currently use a BSA Lightning .22 12ft/lb. I am now looking for a PCP rifle for my contractual work as a step-up from the spring rifle. I have short listed the FX Verminator and the Daystate MCT Airwolf Tactical. I would like to get a variation on my FAC to get the air rifle up to around 32ft/lb for grey squirrel/rabbit work. I just wanted to find out if anyone else has the above and whether they have them 'cranked-up' over 12ft/lb?
  7. O my god no. Weekends & holidays !!!!!! I spend to much time waxing & rubbing a clay bar over it. If I won the lottery, maybe
  8. Another good and growing show. More & more displays / trade stands each year. Well worth a visit.
  9. Get a Nissan Pathfinder. Loads of room and a good reliable 4 X 4. Make sure that you change the tyres to General Grabber AT's or something with a bit of tread; rather than original road tyres.
  10. Hello all, I'm looking for some advice. I want to fit a plug-in 'chip' to my 2007 2.5 Pathfinder in order to increase the engine torque and increase fuel economy. There are plenty of these 'plug & go' units for sale on ebay etc. I was just wondering what experience others have had and if there are any preferances. Thanks.

  12. I am using Tesco's Pig's Liver. Best Left in the van for a few hot days to get ripe. Peel the top of the tray and let the aroma's flow !!! I am also having alot of success with CHUB rolls of dog food from Lidl's......... Very cost effective if you are using alot. One roll will bait 3 cage traps. Don't forget to add a small bowl of water in case a non-taget pest is accidentally trapped. E.g. a BLOODY CAT.
  13. Don't forget when fox hunting as in force; cubbing was a regular activity by the hunts in the countryside during April, May & June in order to control fox populations. The Humane, legal control of foxes was and is still necessary in order to protect farm livestock, game birds, endangered species and maintain disease management.
  14. I noticed a really decent Gen 3 scope for sale on ebay 4 months old at about half of the RRP. Worth a look if you are in the market for one. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NIGHT-VISION-SCOPE-/110716960270?pt=UK_SportingGoods_Hunting_ShootingSports_ET&hash=item19c73ebe0e
  15. My FAC is issued by Herts. Stating under Additional Conditions: 5. The .22RF Rifle and the ammunition to which this certificate relates shall be used for pest and fox control and for zeroing on ranges or land over which the holder has permission to shoot with that class of firearms from the person by whom the shooting rights are owned or from whom they may be leased or otherwise obtained. Please note: I only dispatch foxes in cage traps with my .22RF Quick, clinical and precise
  16. Gamekeeper found guilty of trapping birds of prey and using 'live' pigeons as bait. Quote "Brown was found guilty of seven offences under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 and the Animal Welfare Act 2010, including using a trap for the purpose of killing or taking wild birds". http://www.bbc.co.uk...yshire-13749356
  17. It is a criminal offence to use Warfarin 10KM from a RED Squirrel population. Warfarin poison may only be deployed out of doors against grey squirrels for tree protection and only between 15 March and 15 August. A successful poisoning operation will be at least as effective as cage trapping, even though few, if any, dead squirrels will be found. Squirrels may be poisoned in loft spaces all year round but in the autumn it can difficult to get them eating poison and alternative methods are best used. Only the 0.02% warfarin bait (Grey Squirrel Bait MAPP no. 13020) m
  18. DR5 duster's sound like to much hard work. Get a PA2 Applicator with a few extension poles. It will pay itself off in 5-6 wasp nest treatments. The PA2 saves time & money. Killgerm were doing a special offer on them last month. No more pumping for hours, no more wasting dusting powder or powder stuck in the extension poles.
  19. If you come across wildlife that looks diseased and you are not sure what it is; contact your local DEFRA Office (FERA - Food Environment Research Agency). FERA monitor emerging diseases in wildlife throughout the UK. They will usually send out a Collection Officer and take it away and for screening. Bag it up and attach a luggage label on it stating date and location. Better be safe than sorry
  20. Please read article below. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/earth/environment/8555635/Resident-prompts-anger-after-ordering-urban-foxes-to-be-shot.html
  21. I wasn't having a dig. Just making everyone who may get a call out to feral bees to be careful in whatever they choose to do, especially if it is possible that there are bee hives around the area.
