  1. quality write up brimmer would have been good to have more pics but when your day is that hectic it just dosent happen

  3. hard work but in good company it flys by, thanks for the invite enjoyed the catch up the bunnies have been processed and a terrine is in the oven
  4. peg to beg is fine for basics but if you want some background, Longnetting by Harold Wyman he is a god !
  5. Just completed my DSC1 at Wadhurst and must say found it very informative good bunch of guys , Oh and Mrs Mears . Staff very frendlie from the park and Chris Howard was an excelent tutor, would recomend the course to all and found the cd ultimate deer data great! a pucker tool, cant wait to move on to my DSC2 Highly recomended

  9. Ponds are close to me I also have access to pond very close to the foreshore I would just like a mentore to show me the fine points ! I like getting up to Yorkshire with the dogs cant get enough of them moors !!! what a place to live if I get up that way whats the chance of a flight ?
  10. couple of ponds...inland?? that isnt wildfowling!! not much can go wrong on little ponds like it can on a marsh or the mud! sit on the edge of it and wait...simples fair shout thought there is enough to learn without all the tide, mud and other factors. I am more intrested in basics like shot, decoy patterns essential equipment. Felt I was best to master the basics in a safe enviroment before venturing onto the foreshore. you offerering to be a mentor ?

  20. Well this post has achived many things for me restored faith in THL given me some good indications as to what I need to do to rectify mistakes I have made with my beddy whip shown me what not to do with my young whippet Thanks to all who have replyed especily Skycat

  22. Just reading fowlers moon what a read is there a good instructional book on wildfowling? I have access to a couple of ponds and am feeding them up but no mentor so I want to read up and learn by my enevitable mistakes ! any titles I should buy ?

Beddy whip is now 18months has caught on the lamp, bushing, ferreting etc he has been taught to retreive dummy of various sizes and weights skin covered etc. he comes out with me stalking rabbits and shooting from the veichle he will not retreive them to hand and I am running out of options I have tried. walking away (he leaves the rabbit eventualy and follows me) walking to him (he pick up the rabbit and moves off) getting low open arms and calling(he just stands over it mouthing it) throwing the dead rabbit like a dummy (a half hearted retreive very short) my shooting companion
