  17. Was in your position about three months ago, started re training him with a normal dummy n then a rabbit skin one, day n night about 5 times a day ish n last Thursday took him out for the first real time on the lamp, had about 4 runs n on the 5 th he caught one and retrieved it back, I was amazed, also had some advise of a chap on here not to go fetch it off him if he don't want to bring it in, walk off calling him in n he will either bring it on or leave it, I figure that he will lern to bring it on or looze it. Also got a DVD called perdys progress by dave sleight, very good DVD for seeing w

  19. So I've been striving to get my dogs retrieve right for the past few months, had some problems in the beggining also had problems with him at home when I'm at work, I especialy had a few isues this week, so I thought I'm gonna get a new lamp go and see my permisions and start lamping ( after all that was the reason I got a dog) the lamp arrived today so out I have been, So got to my permisions, got the dog out n entered my first field, result 3 rabbits nicely out in the field so lamp off n creep a bit closer, a nice run but no luck, saw 2 more at the edge in a bit of scrub, missed this on
  20. cheers chaps, gonna keep plugging away, he's a smart dog so hopeing its gonna all come good, maybe in a couple of days he might be more willing, he may have been a little hyped up after the ferreting, cant fault him with regard to the ferreting, very obedient etc, strange how the time has passed, cant quite bellieve he's 14 months, should have had this sorted months ago, thanks to this forum n all you lads on here i am further ahead than i would have been without the advise, here's hopeing he will be retrieveing grand soon.. Thanks chaps, Dan
  21. I posted a couple of months back and got some great advise about getting my dog to retrieve rabbits, well i've gone from dummy to rabbit skin dummy out with the lamp with the rabit skin dummy its worked super well, so today i've been ferreting with him and am now trying to get him to retrieve a dead one that i throw for him, he brings it back ish more or less dangling it by its skin ragging it a bit but doesnt give it to hand like he does with the rabbit skin one drops it at about 1 meter, hopeing its not a bad start? am i going about this the right way? Thanks in advance, Dan (he's 14 months
