Question for Folk involved in Deer Management
greenman replied to undisputed's topic in General Talk
it's some sort of abcess. when i lived in a particular part of the country i butchered a lot of deer with internal abcesses caused by tb. any really bad cases were bagged and sent to defra, the carcasses were never condemned and only saw one really bad case in a fallow buck who was riddled throughout his body. if you know where to look at the lymph nodes on the internal organs i think people would be shocked at how rife this disease is in deer. -
don't normally look on the fishing on here, just saw the thread on a pike and knew a big pike had been caught near me. this guy must be good a biting his tongue because i have walked past him a few times walking my dogs and asked him how he's getting on. last time i saw him must of been around the time he caught the fish, next time i go past i will definately be congratulating him.

why doesn't ianb create a sub forum called "tofu recipes, tree hugging and tie dye t-shirts" anyone caught putting up a recipe, or posting photos of themselves hugging trees in tie dye t-shirts is obviously an anti and should be banned from the site with immediate effect. amen

dog turds don't get a chance to go white aymore they are soon scooped up into non degradable plastic bags and stuck i the bin to end up on landfill sites. even worse is the increasing number of 'turd trees' usually found on the outskirts of a village/ town or park where the dog owner gets fed up of carrying a steaming bag of turd and lauches it into the hedge. i remember the days when a turd sat on the pavement going white just waiting for the tyre of a raleigh chopper or sole of a dunlop greenflash to pick it up and take it home for mum. i even see people on footpaths in the middle of farmlan

brummy, this dog would be a cracker if you ran it rather than parking in dogging layby's covering your dinkle in ketchup and letting your dogs lick it off. forever yours pudgy princess

used to be able to buy strong peroxide from most chemists (the stuff in womens hair bleach) but i think its hard to get now. try a company called bushwear they supply chemicals for bleaching heads and also darkening antlers. think the site is bushwear.co.uk but should come up on google.

does look bird like but i am convinced from what i see this is hedgehog. the 'urine' may be leaching from the scat as the floor looks damp where it is led. i'm afraid people do own books on animal crap! have just looked it up and i am now sure that is hedgehog.

cheers i'll start to introduce it to their diet.

i give my dogs a tin or two of sardines or mackeral in oil especially if i'm short of flesh and feeding dry food. i live near the coast and have access to a lot of fresh fish particularly herring. my worry is bones, a dogs constitution is a lot better than ours and herring bones are quite soft, but would it be ok to feed a couple of herring or so a week whole and raw into a dogs diet, or other oily fish?

i don't know spiderpig and i'm not from his part of the world. i do have a dog from his part of the world from a friend of his and have spent some time with the guy who bred it and spoken to him so i understand what he is trying to explain. there are more lowland red deer than people realise in parts of the country were they are not expected to be. they are not park deer, they have not been park deer in they are truly wild, all deer species are increasing even the government are acknoweledging this so ranges are spreading. lowland reds are huge, i am talking of animals living in decid

can't remember the name of the chemical now phenol phaylyne rings a bell? any way we were using it in chemistry when our teacher told us to make sure we washed our hands as it's a powerful laxative. oh dear. me and my mate emptied his flask and filled it with the bottle of liquid which we rerplaced with water. we put a large slug in another mates drink at lunch. after lunch we had english during which he shit himself and ran out the room still firing runny shit out his arse seeping through his trousers and down his legs. apparently it took a day for the shits to subside and he was lucky not to

whats wong with a good old fashioned oil stone then finish ith a steel? i have a diamond sharpener thing and cant do the job i an with a stone.there is something good about earning the proper way to sharpen a knife not just kits and machines which take all the skill out of it i agree spiderpig. a few licks on the steel as you use it will keep the edge and if you let it go an oil stone is as good as anything. woz you've made a good choice in carbon steel, it's better than any modern stainless crap! if you sharpen a knife properly with a stone or steel the edge will run right up to the ba

i agree be careful about that 2" mesh, especially if the dogs are terriers. a friend of my lost a young terrier when they fought between the runs wouldn't think it would happen but it can.

your dog must be under direct control in a public place. if you can control your dog without it being on a lead, you don't have to use one. footpath laws were made before dog walkers, they give you the right to walk from a to b and nothing else, they are also a public place so as above you are responsible for the actions of your dog when walking them. the trouble is most people don't know how the law stands and many keepers/landowners take advantage of this. out of courtesy i put my dogs on a lead when walking through livestock or near game covers. if a keeper told me to change my route and no

unless I knew the breeder and what was in the parents I would go to the likes of Hancock where at least you know exactly what x your dog is. There is no guarantee's were backdoor sellers are concerned. Oh! and I would never buy an adult dog from anyone only pups. no guarentees is right a few weeks back i picked up a norfolk adtrader. there was an advert for a litter of bull greyhound collie greyhound pups. claimed to be out of a well known bull cross from up north, well this dog couldn't have served the bitch. another peddler using a name to sell their pups, wonder how often this happe

just read this thread this morning and had a similar conversation with someone a few days ago. in my opinion there are two types of people, those i like and those i don't. i can't and won't make that decision until i've met you. i am not always right about people and sometimes my opinions are changed but i won't be swayed by what others think. if you don't have any real experience of people of traveller decent you shouldn't pass judgement good or bad. oh and watching snatch does not count' which is an 18 by the way and judging by some of the comments on her some people are a bit young to b
