No he won't need a variation for the thread but he will to buy the mod I would think that most gunsmiths would want the mod at the same time though to accurately fit it,thread size will depend on barrel profile but it is good practice to use the thread which removes least metal from the barrel -
Just the same trying to drive partridge cunty flies over drive all the birds either scatter or flush in all directions and the drive is fecked.

Just had my sako varmint .222 cut down to 19" and a jetz cqb fitted as it was it was just too long in the landy it cost me £160 and that included reproof

Lads the f*****g papers are as anti as it gets they print anything they like no mater the facts the plod should know better and so should the nfu the anti's know how to use the media and we have all been a bit slow in that respect the biggest problem from all of this is that joe blogs on the street imediatley thinks that all lurcher,knife and airgun owners are breaking the law and the fact is they ain't. I was always under the impression that carrying a knife for the purpose of using it whilst hunting was reasonable excuse to carry one

Keepers tend to see lamping as a chore once you do it for a job it kind of stops being fun you know you have to go and do it and that takes the enjoyment from it and to be quite honest most nights I would rather be up to the hilt in the wife than out foxin

Never met a shooter who stood up for the dogmen when we were getting banned..... naa, I'm happy with what I'm allowed to hunt with my dogs and if the government deem that rearing birds for the sole purpose of shooting them for fun isn't really hunting....... Then they are on their own. SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO SAD if you had any idea how many keepers supported hunting some times I wished I never marched 3 times put up more than my share of posters, raised money,organised beacons the list goes on. So come on WHAT did you do to save your sport??

There is also folk on here who turn posts around so that dogmen come out in a bad light..... If thats aimed at me your an idiot mate. I am a dog man, and would never shoot a hare with a rifle or any other kind of gun. However its about having a balanced / sane point of view and not being blinkered in your argument otherwise folk will tear it apart and it wont be worth shit. My point was that MANY dog men would have respected the land and quarry and not have stripped it bare, as would many shooters, however all areas of hunting have now been flooded with ignorant folk with no respect

since I took on this shoot I have killed around 100 fox a year off 3000 acres this year I have taken over 100 already most keepers I have spoke too say that they have killed more this year than most. That said we are killing them as a job and not a sport there has to be a balance between control and eradication and I think some just don't know when enough is enough.
