    Cheers The nurse reckons 3 weeks in special care then he should come home but at the moment he needs a little help breathing they said his weight is good and everything else is ok

    Some of the lads on here already know but here is my latest addition he was born at 12.29pm on Friday and weighs 3lb9oz he is 7 weeks early but doing well he is called Henry. He is bred Mackam X N,Yorks

    To be honest mate on 50 acres as you have I would set up 10-15 feeding stations with straw a hopper and access to water to hold any "wild" birds then just spend time on vermin.Have a trap line you check on a night and just enjoy it for what it is rather than invest a heap of time and money looking after a handful of pheasants that you may or may not get a return on

    pheasants will wonder further for water than anything else so make sure you have a good regular supply of clean water for them,plenty of hoppers and as lab says good food,make sure you have a good elec fence round your pen and that the popholes are big enough for an adult bird to enter you need to establish the pen as home to the birds so it is important for the first few weeks to keep them tight and keep walking them back into the pen try not to run the dog into them too much as they are more likely to walk back to the pen than fly in the early days, It is a good idea to have the wings clipp

    Dan, that is the spitting image of my dog...... the bitch i mentioned was like that one aswell but she was a tan colour an probably a bit heavier il get some pics up soon what was in your dog dan? He was 3/4 grey 1/4 collie x f1 beddy/whippet stood about 24tts

    I am surprised I thought hornady brass was better than that I use nosler custom and lapua have never had a cracked one but that's not to say it can't happen,With the Remington brass I used to use it was common for the flash hole to be out of centre,the primer pockets be inconsistent and for the necks to be miss shaped so changed to the lap and nosler both seem very consistent and well manufactured.

    I know what it's like mate on my last estate most of it was right to roam and the rest had more footpaths then a town centre we had 2 villages within the shoot and the people with dogs just walked anywhere it was all leased and the walkers would just ask the farmers and would get the nod to walk where they wanted I used to pull my hair out it got to the point where you couldn't trap or shoot with a rifle in the end I couldn't deal with it and moved I know thats not much help mate but there is just no way round it

    To be honest lab the timing isn't too bad I don't have to think about the heap of poults arriving in the second week of July and sorting the crops only really means showing the contractors round and running seed out to them,The pens are already up together so its just check my trap lines and teach the 3 year old boy how to set wires, mk4's and larsens

WILL YOU PLEASE SHUT THE f**k UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! its obvious you know not alot and have got all your info from a book or hear say. if every keeper had a bloody terrier, why does my f*****g phone stop for call outs, most keepers have better things to do than waste a day digging a bloody hole to a terrier! Im sure your under the illusion, a keeper carries a gun all day shooting vermin etc,,, affraid your in for a shock when/if you get into this profession young man... Too many young lads already on here that think they know every
