  1. I'm trying to resize pics on photobucket but just pissing me off. Bollocks to it. Here's me posing in front of Lincoln Cathedral, LOL And this is me out on my first day stalking with Dan, third Roe I shot on one hell of a day! So had to have something to remember the day. There, now crack on lads! that picture turned out well was a good day mate enjoyed the company but what really surprised me was just how small and soft your hands are
  2. There is some real pish spouted on this thread for sure In answer to socks question it is perfectly legal to have birds penned up, to,through and after the season be they pheasant or partridge, when they are released is entirely down to the shoots schedule (not every one starts shooting just because the season has started)and the keepers conscience.Topping up is neither a new thing nor that big of a deal, shoots are businesses and at times it's what gets the job done,at the end of the day the keepers job is to put on a show and just like any good pantomime some times you need to use smoke and

  5. Happy new year to you and family mate
  6. hope she is ok, do find it somewhat ironic that the deer was in Mr Hunter's garden.
  7. sometimes it is just that a miss even with everything on your side it still happens main thing is to not get hung up on it the old saying "the man as claims to never miss has never shot that much" is very true
  8. That the one on your BM Dan? Yes mate I see they do a nice 3-9 x 50 for only £60 more (£295) for more light at dusk. I can't fault the one I got cracking optics and build quality for the money, the rifle I put mine on suited the smaller scope and light gathering wasn't a real concern though I concede that the 50mm objective would transmit light better
  9. Presumably he will refuse any treatment that was tested on animals?
  10. I've one of these on my .22 http://www.sportsmanguncentre.co.uk/product/164c0628a6a8bf3609990117/REDFIELD+Revolution+2-7x33+ACCU/ cracking little scope and made by leupold
  11. quite simple really to question what is morally right one must first question/challenge morality as a concept Very deep Dan...or should I call you grasshopper? LOL and I hadn't' had a drink such topics usually involve a pub and lots of alcohol any way here's some Confucius for you Wisdom, compassion, and courage are the three universally recognized moral qualities of men. "I hear and I forget,I see and I remember,I do and I understand"
  12. so true with all the bullx available just how many have pit and no staffy in them?

  16. these quotes sum it up for me. Morality is simply the attitude we adopt toward people whom we personally dislike. Oscar Wild Morality is the herd instinct in the individual. Friedrich nietzsche
  17. Well the small family day I had to put on ended up 9 guns, 6 drives, 97 pheasants, 34 partridge, 2 woodcock so 133 total for 1450 shots in their defence it was an inexperienced team of young guns and it was blowing 25 to 30mph most the day. Born hunter and Hutchey the last week of the season I'm having a couple of boundary days no dates confirmed yet but as soon as I can confirm I'll PM them your more than welcome to pop down
  18. ballistic calculators have a place but don't expect them to be accurate in the real world the simple fact is that the topography you shoot over will cause the wind to be as inconsistent as an inconsistent thing, wind speed is rarely a constant and unless you can range find, use a windmeter, assess the value at which the wind is in relation to shot and then run the app whilst foxy sits there and waits for you to shoot it is of little use. best guess and experience is what gets the job done
  19. looked on their website and I really like the look of the rover inox stainless, wood with adjustable cheek piece think I could talk myself into one of those in 30-06
  20. Add a moderator as all the other posts have and it weighs approx 11.5 lbs though doesn't it, I must say the licencing in Ireland must be damned slow since you claim to have bought this rifle in July and you only got it last week
  21. Yep, 30 rounds in the mag, fully set up and away you go, that is light! Lighter than pretty much any heavy barrel Varmint/tactical sporting centrefire you can name! well you could start with a remington 700 sps tactical it starts at 7.3lbs so an 11lb build would be pretty easy
  22. lol an SA80 or should I say L85A2 with full mag and susat weighs in at a slim 11lbs
