    Probably not mate....but neither would swearing or making remarks about "shit shooting" but it happens from the beating/ picking up team. As I've said this can be done at a training stage and if the dog is trained to a high standard then the guns should hear nothing but a few short toots of a whistle. Infact if I was a gun I'd rather see someone scruff his dog and get it under control than watch an out of control dog or worse listen to a bloody whistle every 2 secs.....     All training methods in the hands of fools can be abused, not too long ago I was brought a spaniel to train when I asked what it was fed I was told the only food it got was a small handful of training treats a day the thing was skin and bone, clearly starving and almost a neglect case but the owner was insistent that the reward based training method was the best thing and that the he had being given the advice to starve the dog and only give it treats for perfect performance.

    correctly applied E collar ,pinch collar even a light tap from a whippy stick but I draw the line at pulling they dogs ears If I saw anyone of my picker ups or beaters chastise a dog like this man did they wouldn't step foot on the shoot again that being said I have a Birkenwald gsp pup here that would test the patient of a saint every lesson is hard gained and no amount of love,care and attention makes a wank of difference and by f**k I could swing for it some days but as we all know if you've got to the point of shouting or hitting the dog you've lost the battle

    Ohhhh a pissing contest LOL, My two penneth I have shot between 100-150 deer per year for well over 24 or so years guided clients on as many if not more seen and used from .222 to 300rum on munty to red, I have NOT shot elk, grizzly or plains game and despite living on the Jurassic coast have never found a dinosaur to bag, my tool of choice .25-06 pushing an 85gr nosler ballistic tip at some 3600fps it moderates beautifully,no discernible recoil,has the grunt to get any job done in the UK and is point and shoot to well over 300 yds,

    looks a little light in the blade for chopping/batonning etc, have you tried one? Used one for splitting pelvis and rib cage on deer and any other heavy task at work holds a good edge is cheap enough to lose and seems indestructible there are some good youtube torture tests on these
