  1. Used to love going egging with my old man, think best was a guillemot. Those were the days, grew up in the woods and fields, walking miles........those days are gone now for most kids.........the world is a poorer place for it. Oh so true bud. The miles we used to put in was unreal, but you dont think nowt of it when your a nipper. Strange thing is, I can still remember where I got most of them. Did you have a climb down for the guillemot?
  2. Nick Stevens book recieved, Nice condition too! Cheers Bud.
  3. Got nowt to do with my carp fishing bud, comes from egg collecting as a nipper, and a genuine interest in birds. I would never take more than 1 and I would never take an egg if I couldnt identify the bird, no point. All in the past now though bud....
  4. Nice one Micky, learnt a little today. The above method is how I put my tarp lines away.
  5. Off to the beach to have a better look at some night time ferreting.

  6. Thats how you tie up a hawks creance too, sposed to be able to do it with one hand, which I can if I stand on the line to put it under tension.. Hard though with a bird on the glove..
  7. Four 50 yarders would cover all your needs, maybe 2 50`s and two 25`s? But, four 50 yarders would be 400 yard of net. 44 magnum poles would be heavy too. If your gonna put a few nets in the same basket, I would go for a stackable pole job, like the Life Long Cumbrian design, this would keep everything nice, tight and tidy. Im lucky enough to have one and it will take a 50 and 2 25`s beautifully. If you dont fancy that route of sourcing baskets and such, NELS0N will sort you out with decent quicksets and baskets.
  8. Are you near any electric fences or pylon`s, that makes them go nutty. Theres talk of Iphones making them play up too. I turn mine off and leave it in the motor.
  9. I haven`t a clue what you could mean, but I do know what a line is and used for.. I was imagining maybe a big easy undo-able knot in the middle of the banting line for added weight or to add more disturbance as it being dragged? Interesting topic either way.
  10. Advanced netting, google it. It comes as a 200 yard sheet. Phone them and ask for rabbit netting and they will know the type your after.
  11. Im not saying dont do it, but it would be rather abitious to go for a 200yard sheet of netting if you`ve no experiance at all.. Ive been making nets a tad over a year, with 120+ purse nets 20 bigger poke nets, 10 fox nets worth of experience. It took me a month to knit 100 yards of net, and that was doing a bit most days, between 2 and 9 yards, 9 yards taking all day or all eve. You can get everything you need from the link above. Good luck bud.
  12. Better get out and tidy the yard, got some woman coming for a few birds.

  13. All of the above, plus a few more - but not a rent boy.. I ckcckcan do that, giz a job!
  14. Looks to be a Common, with that white belly and eye brow.
  15. Nah not yet bud, be Monday now... Hopefully. I`ll go £40...
  16. Seeing as I had the Nick stevens one, would you do it for 35 posted? Their on terrierman.com for 35 posted
  17. I watched a few on you tube and agouti, and found the one I said about to best the best, its a geordie guy, with all his kit laid out on a table at the start, the guy is on here funny enough.... I wouldnt bother with a DVD, its one knot bud, once you learn it, your away, with the DVD gathering dust... Get a kit and get on it. It doesnt matter if you spunk your first roll of twine, its a learning curve. Plus you would still have the rings, drawcord, mesh board, and needles to reuse till your happy with what your producing.
  18. I thought you said you could tell a heron from a stork or egret RFYL
  19. Yeah, you know it. Just keep watching that vid on the other thread, "make or buy" Thats the one I used, and I got there.. Helps if you have your gear in your hand and are ready to go. The bit that fucks you up and most others, is forgeting to cast the twine over your hand before you do the actual knot, so instead of forming a knot, your just wrapping the twine round the other strands, hence the slip. Keep at it and it will click, and you`ll wonder were your head was at.
  20. Bit too far bud, Im 90 mile away, just checked. Cant believe theres no one closer to you..
  21. Looks a bit like a juvenile robin. Was it wet, looks fluffy.
  22. Get a collar on him and dont expect too much first time out, you`ll know if you got a good one after a few times out. Shouldnt have a problem though. Good luck.
  23. Takes the piss Ken.. See it on the scammer programs on tv all the time, the cnuts are buying their own house`s through benifit fraud, then when its paid for, they sell up and f**k off. And how does such a grand scam work? With simple f*****g things such as changing their first names to their last. This country is f****d. I dont vote, its all predeterimed lies, they all know the f*****g outcome before the votes have been counted.
  24. Ha Ha Ha. Fair play, I can tell the difference between a Coal tit, Great tit and a big tit come to think about it, dont worry about that fella.
  25. Just out of curiosity, how far East are you bud?
