  1. We're doing the inside of a royal Armouries which houses the nations collection of artillery, all the big guns and cannon from the past. Nothing but bloody red tape.
  2. eBay do a cheap castration kit, comes with 100 chunky orange bands and the pliers to put them on. Worked well for me. Also good for mending "over the top of the forks" style of catapult.
  3. That was about what They wanted for one in B and Q a couple of months ago. Don't know if you'll get them much cheaper. Do you know anyone who works there, I paid £21 with my brothers discount.
  4. Ha ha ha Rake, Happy days, my Mrs hands are far too delicate for them shananagans, her words not mine lol.
  5. As Lawrence said... Jus use a small screwie, like the ones for specs, and make a hole in between every hole. I would avoid the harness route as I think it would catch up more than the collar would. I rather walk away from a dig with me ferret, than dig to a dead hung up ferret, whos to say you would make the dig for the collar any way, at least you got your best worker back.....
  6. Frontline spray! follow up with a "O" TOM Tick remover, if things are that bad. Just Par for course mate, part of the bigger plan. Lost my hob for an hour, thought he was in the box and moved on, got to the next set and opened the box, no hob- back to the last set, locator out and found him wandering, covered in fleas and ticks. All you can do mate is prevent and cure.
  7. Bisley ones are shite, got some off netrigger and started making my own, and now I can tell even the poke nets I bought from bridport are inferior to home made. Home made all day long.
  8. I got 20 used bisley nets here you can have for a tenner, and thats just for the postage mate really. Pm me if your interested.
  9. Never tried this! But how bout tying the tops and then the bottom rings together then stick them in a pillow case and wash them in the machine with minimal detergent. I cant see why you couldnt. Dunno about their odour afterwards tho....
  10. Ive been making a few since learning at xmas, made 10 blue ones, which I caught with the other day, then 10 two tone blue and day glo yellow and now Im on my 7th yellow one. Im well happy with them, cant stop making them at the minute. Gonna start on a long one soon, before theres purse nets hanging all over the house. No where near Andys time of 20 min a net yet tho, more like 70 mins. Ive got all sorts of colours in my bag off netrigger, and as has been said, I think the brighter the better.
  11. Do you fast once, twice a week then? The only thing I would fast is a bird of prey prior to flying. Never really been into starving my animals.
  12. They should be fine kept together for the moment. But if you don't want young, seperate as soon as possible. Looks like they will be coming into season early this year due to mild weather. As for feeding, mine have dry food in the hutch constantly, with meat being fed as and when, with any un-eaten meat taken out the day after, but can be left in longer in cold weather.
  13. Spot on Jamie. My hob is there abouts. He was from a late litter last year too, he`s grabbing them already as they`re getting a bit bald and red round the neck, have to make a little jill box so they can escape a little while longer.
  14. NIce one Paul, simple when you know how eh? I had visions of me knitting backwards up the stairs into the bedroom....
  15. Im sorry Whine, was my question not a high enough calibre for you, it was a bit flippant, only I spend most of my time on here wondering what the fukc your going on about. Not everyone came out the womb knowing how to knit the best nets in the land, off beer tabs ffs. The thread you mention was a load of shite, people moaning about people picking holes in things, just as you have just done. I was trying to make the point, that some people should get thicker skinned and some people should grow up, a sorta " If you dont have owt nice or constructive to say, say f**k all" Sorry Whin, I bow to you
  16. Nice one. I`ll be having a crack at one in the near future. I will be making mine indoors, so when it starts to get long, as, in, nearly going wall to wall, how do I shorten it so I can keep going?
  17. 2 members and 7 guests at this time of day. Who could gleem anything useful from this drivel
  18. Nice.... The dirty feckers get everywhere. I kicked one off a log, he was gouching in a small wood near a play park, thought the cnut was dead.
  19. Ive got some off netrigger with sliders on and, I too, think they purse quicker and are easier to open to get a rabbit out. Gonna get me some wire and have a go, gonna double up at the eyes though so the sharp cut end can be taped over.
  20. Nice piece of history. Thanks for sharing.
  21. Cheers for clearing that up Andy.
  22. Recieved and read both these books, I found them informative and enjoyable, as a novice. Thanks Martin.
  23. Im not local, local. Half hour down the motorway mate. I`d be up for a day out once you get yourself settled. Ive also got a bit of permission down that way too.
  24. Ive just been mate, my jills are wide awake? Jokin La. My hob does it every time I put him back in his box, walk to the next set and open his Squeeky lid and hes sounder`s, dont wake up till your hand close`s round him.
  25. The answer is - no locator, well for the next 2 weeks any way. After widening my interests and friend circle, Ive now found myself learning falconry, and ferreting for 2 new friends, to birds. And, in my opinion, its a fair trade. But, today, whilst visiting a new permission, a very public war time fortress, In the telephone booth change over from ferreter to falconer- Ive unclipped my bum bag with the ferret locator, sharpener, knife and gloves, to put on the falconers bag. All was going well apart from a bit of bating from the Harris, and as I was more interested in getting the bird sitting
