  1. I get mine from the local animal feed mill, £16 a kilo. Put some in an old sock and bash it about the hutch.
  2. Yeah mate, I`d agree with you there. Are a few of those from Linear?
  3. FFS, Gutted eh Ken. Hope the pup turns out good for you.
  4. Are you not paying full price for a weaker solution?Ive never had a problem with the stuff for cats and dogs, especially if you pop the ferret in a bag and give him aquick weigh. Lawrence, I also put DE in the bedding, corners and edges of the hutch.
  5. As the old saying goes, You cant put a small net on a big hole... Not all the nets Ive got are this size, horses for courses, but Ive got enough nets now, so any I make have got to be good enough to sell on to friends.
  6. 12 on the ring, increasing every row to 19 then 5 rows of 20,then back down to 12. 2.1/8 board.
  7. Mine get like it from time to time. Even if I cant see owt moving, a dose of frontline spray usually sorts it out. Easiest way to get it is tell your vet its for the dog, no need for a oppointment or weighing, as your dogs details should already be on the computer..
  8. I`d have been up for it if you were nearer mate. Im sure you`ll have no problems getting someone.
  9. "this week, I have mostly been makin` nets"

  10. Do you have the key fob magnet then? Ive got one I can send you if you dont. Yeah, the switch.... Its not unheard of for the switch to be faulty.
  11. I know it says swipe the collar with the box, but have you tried just holding it there a couple of seconds? Sometimes I`ll swiipe it and it turns it on and off, and I`ll have to do it again, sometimes twice. I prefer to use the key fob magnet too. Someone on here said its a bigger magnet than the one in the handset, and therefore makes a better contact in the collar. I dont know how true this is, but it works for me. As for a 2nd collar, you can get them pretty much everywhere online, for around the same money, or a cheaper 2nd hand one from ebay.....
  12. Ive got some old nets that would go nice in there aint I Socks.. .. Is that a screw poking out the baton on the far side? If it is, its gonna snag like a bitch, that said, most of them corners and edges will probably snag at some point. Fair play for having a go at it though, looks like I made it You could do with a smaller meshed bag for the basket, so your longnet doesnt slip through, pick up crap and tangle. Its just the light shining of the bottle behind, i tried to make sure all the screws were sunken to reduce snagging as much as possible ....... might work might not we will see!

  14. Advanced netting.... £50 odd quid delivered for 200yd of 6z....
  15. i have seen the same thing in some of the burys i have been looking at on my permission big turds in the mouth of hole!! i also have not seen many rabbits about at all!! good luck mate stu Its not Stud over Romsey is it?
  16. Theres not a lot around here Jamie, I live in a seaside town thats only got 2 roads in and out of it. Your looking at a good half hour drive before you see any worthwhile fields. Theres a small farmers field about a 10 min drive from mine and I know of at least 4 people all flying their birds on the same ground, thats how bad it is local to me, Im not even sure it has any game on there. Defo not Yew berries. Its pretty much the same as the mixed corn I feed my hens.
  17. Hi All... I got up my Only permission yesterday. And, I was instantly alarmed by the lack of rabbits I seen. Left the gear in the van and went for a walk over to a stand of pine in the middle of a paddock, which usually holds. Almost every hole had a pile of greyish shite in the hole, about 25 holes. Some of it looked turd (big turd) shaped and some of it looked like it had been slopped in with a big spoon. All of it contained lots of seeds, like Pheasant grain. So I`m wondering what is it as Ive never come across so many holes with dirt in, Fox maybe, or poison? It looks like they have
  18. For the price Bisley charge for 4z stopnets, your probably better getting some para cord and sheet neeting and make your own.. Try advanced netting, you have to phone and ask for it tho.
  19. They wont normally move out into the middle unless theres already a bury there. Rabbits prefer some cover.
  20. Why wait for them to disperse? If you want rid, as its near stables, get them now while you know where there are, cos once you have ferreted a few times, the few loose stragglers will become hard to get to bolt, and you will be laying nets for nothing.
  21. I dont know what you mean? We were ferreting like this a few weeks back and we had about a 100 ferreting this way for pest control. Ive also had a few other bunnys since ferreting whilst the cover is up.....
  22. Yeah, sounds about right. All depends on the amount of kit you have/carry really. You could put down some purse nets too.
  23. Longnets each side or all the way round it. Then section the hedge with stopnets going through the hedge, to break it into smaller pieces. Start from one end to the other. Its easier with a few people, one each side of the hedge and one to work the stopnets. Or even better, a dog...
  24. Hey.... I thought no one replied. First I withheld food 24hrs, then bled it out. Then I got the Mrs to finish the plucking..... I drew it an hour later. Washed and weighed it 5LB 12oZ. and its been resting for 48hr in the fridge. Gonna try it tonight.... Still a bit warm down here Joel, so theres still quite a few flies about, so no hanging for me just yet.
  25. I dont know what to suggest as Ive not come across it, but Im sure there was a thread on here about worming ferrets and someone said ferrets dont usually pick up heavy infestations of worms, and, due to a short digestion tract - didnt require worming. I dont know how true this is. Someone more knowledgable should be along soon... Make sure you wash your hands lol
