My original post was aimed at ferret owners having a level of responsibility in making sure said ferrets cannot escape. Joe sounds like he is a responsible owner who has just been unfortunate, in this case i am not disputing that he is in any way lazy. In fact if he doesnt manage to find his, i'd be quite happy to give him one of mine. Second post was aimed directly at Droid, nobody else. That post was in defence to the original, meaning exactly what it pointed out based on my experiences with other people and their attitudes to keeping ferrets. I cant agree more with stubby, do it the fun way mate and try to talk the farmer round. I'm B.P.C.A qualified and do gassing on a regular basis, believe me it's not good!

Maybe you should keep your small minded opinionated waffle to yourself or at least if you cant make sure that you have a valid point...in this case Joe14 has already said that it cant be his and that was after your stupid comment. Just keep it buddy, if the person who has lost it, obviously cant look after them, then dont bother. I knew someone who lost one once b'coz he was a lazey b*****d and couldn't be bothered to repare the cage after being told to fix it! So you never know, it could be better of with you. GOOD LUCK!

I agree, take the ferret to the vets a.s.a.p and get a fcuking collar, also if ya gunna meet up with people then take your little pistol with ya! SIMPLE! Not that i would coz i aint a wup ass.. Its quite a good experiance as i have met up with people of xbox and now there good mates. Anyway just sort it out coz where all good lads arn't we?

I have four ferrets, two hobs that have been vasectamised and both about 4yrs and two jills that are 18 months and all live together, it's great watching them messing about. You have to get another one just for company of the other, i'd have more if i had the room, but very pleased with the little blighters that i own. do it, good luck!

Just get bit man and find out it's funny! Now the best way to do this is go ferreting with someone, and while the ferret is about to enter the holes try to grab it, i did this with my mates as we where moving on and it done me three times on the same finger coz i didn't want to drop it, and it were a hob. Anyway let us know how ya get on buddy! Good luck...

No, havent got any of my own permission but i do go with a few friends who do. As i'm getting into it more im looking to get my own permission but seems people arent interested. Will give your suggestion a go though, never thought of that! Might try it further away from home just in case i get rumbled!!

Just wondering if anyone has found the best approach to asking land owners for permission? Not sure if sending letters or approaching in person is best. Whats your experiences and whats worked best for you? I've tried both of the above but i dont seem to have had much luck if any, so wondered where i'm going wrong!
