The stock looks like beech as opposed to walnut ?

.25 Air Rifle Power FAC recommendations.
Brickhill replied to dixyhmr's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
Cheers Phil, Does more than 25 more like eighty but when the gun was crono'd the best 25 only varied by 18fps so i tend to get the gun in this curve when shooting vermin. -

Mine does a smidgen over 45ft lbs at 890 fps. I can get 25 really consistent shots out of it. Best ammo for this gun is JSB Exact 25.39g Worth thinking about getting a scope which is parallax adjustable - works for me! One downside is it's a heavy set up! -
If you're looking for a .22LR with a bit more zip it's worth trying the RWS HV HP. The data says they do about 142ftlb at the muzzle. I've found them to be the most accurate HV round out there.

Good shooting UD.

Can't Decide On A Fox Calibre
Brickhill replied to bullit666's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
Think about whether you are going to reload or not. I use a Tikka T3 in .204 ruger with hornady superformance 32g v-max. Great foxing combo IMO. -

Not Another 22 Hornet Thread?!
Brickhill replied to Elliott's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
Looks very pretty, but it's old hat. Depends what you want to shoot with it though. -

Rifles For Shooting Seals
Brickhill replied to Gill Netter's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
There are seals and there are seals. A bit like comparing deer. Red Stags weighing 30 stone or tiny muntjac. Maybe you would be better off getting some advice from a pro pest controller with relevant experience? -
How about two and a half grand for one of these beauties from Anschutz. Model 1727F See the Shooting Times review on this link: http://jga.anschuetz-sport.com/index.php5?produktID=808&menu=109&sprache=1&produktShow=detail

Fabulous RFB, great pictures! No dealer around here stock the Z Lang. I'd love to try them. I currently use Remington Cbees when I need something lower powered. They look like the roughest stuff ever in the box with a huge cavity and a deep cross at the front of the bullet. I've shot loads of squizzers and pigeons with then though.

Which .22Lr Eley Ammunition For Club / Sport?
Brickhill replied to David Aiken's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
Tenex is premium stuff IMO. ^^^ my Anschutz loves it. It's pricey but worth it to find out what your gun can do. -
Kent Firearms Licensing And My Variation :-)
Brickhill replied to David Aiken's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
Are we not a bit off topic gents? .243 Privi are available at £14 a box of twenty which is f**k all. If he's safe that's all that really matters. -

I'd like to know what these 37 extra Firearms Officers are going to do when the ISIS boys aren't actually in the Garden of England? I'd say a lot of them would have suitable skills sets to help clear your backlog sir. -
Kent Firearms Licensing And My Variation :-)

Ann Barnes the PCC ( Police and Crime Commissioner ) for Kent is looking to tax the people of Kent to the tune of £5 to pay for more Firearms Officers: http://kent-pcc.gov.uk/home.php?entry_id=1449760620 Looks like Kent is well under resourced. -
For my money the RWS HV HP is the best high velocity round. I use an Annie 1417. This stuff definitely has it uses for me. I always carry a five round clip for a quick swap over from subs. Hit's a lot harder on fox. I've also dropped some good range corvids and stoats with this bullet.

What deer do you have on your land? I note that your location is mid Wales. It's possible to have .223 conditioned for CWD and Muntjac but it's probably unlikely you have these species?

I own five Meopta scopes, including two 2x12x50 R2 RD's with Ill ret. The reasons I like Meopta is the glass quality and transferable guarantee. Also I've never had any issues with any of their scopes. Some of the big name scopes do not come even close to Meopta
