  1. Still find it shocking that so long as it does the job people don't mind breeding deaf blind ferrets !
  2. There is no getting away from the fact that albino animals are genetically less sound than normally coloured animals. My granddad chain smoked untipped fags all his life, lived to be 90 odd, doesn't prove smoking doesn't give you cancer. All I'm saying is that the defects are well documented and I've seen them myself, what you do with that information is up to you but just because you haven't seen something doesn't mean it doesn't exist. By the way ferrets with good eyesight work just as well in the dark as blind ferrets do, I don't get what people have got against ferrets that can see !
  3. Vision is no use underground , and you do get messed up ferrets mate. I've seen them with swaying heads and also waltzing ferrets, where they go round in circles, something genetically wrong with the inner ear I think, only seen these problems in albinos. I just get no pleasure in breeding defective animals. That's my point mate, r.e whether the loss of vision is really a hindrance to a working ferret? My other point was, with regard to albinos being 'defective', while i agree that they are more likely to become defective, it cannot be such a likely thing, as breeding albino ferr

  5. A bow perch is not necessarily trouble free mate.
  6. Thanks for the link, after reading that I looked up information on albino ferrets and found this..." Albino ferrets often suffer from being cross-eyed, thus reducing their ability to see well. Additionally, albino ferrets suffer from an abnormality that sends scrambled signals from the eye to the brain, thus disrupting binocular vision and the ability to process visual stimuli correctly. Even colored ferrets can have this albino vision abnormality, because many colored ferrets (especially cinnamons, dark-eyed whites, and pandas) have albino genes." That's precisely why I use eu polecat cro
  7. Makes no difference what colour your ferrets are, hawk will get used to them. It pays to use ferrets of different colours so that in company they are safe with all ferrets. Rotton123 pm me if I can be of any help to you mate.
  8. Hunting all mammals with dogs is illegal, however there are exemptions for rat and rabbit provided you are the land owner or you have his permission for the purpose of pest control. If you don't have permission you're committing an offence under the hunting act, even for rat and rabbit, so don't forget your just taking the dogs for a walk .
  9. From my experience tale length doesn't make a difference, the well known dog Rooster had a shortish tale and I've had a couple of good dogs with shortish tails , one good dog I had, had his tail amputated half way up, made no difference at all.
  10. Yes mate, I shortened mine and took the locking ring off. It's now crap but legal.
  11. You can carry a non locking knife with a blade of less than 3", anything else you need to have good reason. If your hunting , you need to be on or on your way to, or from your permission. If your poaching you haven't got a valid reason.
  12. Apart from the 47 I mentioned, another night that stands out in my memory was with the same bitch, she took 15 out of 16 runs only missing on the 11th run.
  13. My best night was 47, one night, only had 1, and that ran into a pole and killed itself before the dog even got to it ! A good lamper is a dog that makes the best of it's opportunities, it cant catch what isn't there.
  14. I'd say that the idiot was the one who spelt "Conquer" as "Conker" to be honest. Especially when you take into account he's equipped with a degree. Who's got a degree ? I went down the pit two days after my 15th birthday !
  15. I'd say that the idiot was the one who spelt "Conquer" as "Conker" to be honest. Fair cop mate, but then I'm not a teacher so it doesn't really matter, and if a spelling mistake makes someone an idiot , I guess we're all idiots.
  16. He's not old enough to be jumping that high yet mate, give him time to finish his development.
  17. Tories must be loving it ! divide and conker ! Some capitalist idiots on this thread ! come on the reds!
  18. Get him to do it then mate. Proof of the pudding and all that.

AND WHERE IS YOUR PROOF? It isn't the Falconers that are doing it! There isn't a market for 'stolen' wild birds. It is illegal to sell certain registrable birds without the correct paperwork. I have 'crossed swords' with both you and lab-tastic recently over a similar subject. And as I seem to recall everything went quiet when you were faced with the 'FACTS' regarding white tailed eagles being re-introduced after their demise in at the hands of Keepers and farmers, the last one being shot in 1918! Yes hare coursing is just as illegal as the shooting of raptors but it still goes on. There is
  20. Yes Romany , but you drove , these boys walked it I wished a few times I was driving it at the time mate !
  21. I did 90 miles in 15hrs 45mins on the the south downs in my younger days, and you had to navigate as well. Even had to have a day off training after it !
  22. Is she not used to your bare arms ? I've had ferrets soft as you like but they will still bite any part of the body they are not used to, especially keen on bare feet !
  23. Yes ! it's a shame cat owners haven't, when they let their cats out to cause havoc , shitting all over my garden, harassing my chickens, climbing allover my aviary, killing songbirds the second they leave the nest. If I let my dog do that there would be hell to pay ! I'll respect them, when they respect me !
  24. Say nothing, If you think they'll spend days looking for it, lay it in the road. If folk really cared about their cats, they'd keep them at home instead of letting them roam, like my Mrs used to.
