  1. :wankerzo4: :wankerzo4: :wankerzo4: I read something years ago about research on mixi where they injected various animals with it. The only animals they managed to infect other than rabbits were a small percentage of the hares in the experiment.
  2. You are not breaking the law by killing the deer if you are not hunting deer. The law regarding hunting with dogs states that there is no such thing as accidental hunting, which means hunting has to be intentional, otherwise it's not hunting, therefore, providing you are legally hunting within the law, ie, using the exemptions for rat and rabbit, which are only exemptions with permission. you are not hunting deer, so any deer killed by accident do not contravene the hunting with dogs act. The question is, are you then allowed to benefit from said accident, most probably not. Having said that a
  3. Is it some sort of Honeycreeper.
  4. if your looking for a bushing dog i would stick with the russell or maybe russell cocker cross It don't really matter out of all the breeds you mention, they all make good bushers, I've used them all, the best bushing terrier I ever had happened to be a Border, that don't mean borders are the best. Having said all that , you can't better a small spaniel.
  5. Admit nothing, deny everything !
  6. hes already posted ,, said the kits turned out even smaller than the parents never said if he sold them or what He didn't sell 'em, he lost them through the half inch mesh on the front of the hutch.
  7. You are a lone mate, with capital L.
  8. Depends if he's any good ! but in any case, free for a start until he's proven.
  9. I have seen dogs cured, but you've got to be really heavy handed.
  10. yes , put the dog in with a ram ,,. but its to l8t now Even that doesn't always work though, a mate of mine did that, I was there and thought the ram was going to kill it. Sure to cure it we both thought , feck me , it pulled a ewe down on the way back across the fields.
  11. All mine are bred by a falconer, never thought to mention it.
  12. it should be okay if i just leave it aswell though right ? Yes mate, by the looks of it ,it will burst before long anyway. Mike.
  13. well said mate the things are a f*****g liability I notice that all such opinions come from folk who haven't had them ! any ive seen you wouldent want to hold never mine own The secret mate, is handling, I handle mine daily from three or four weeks old right up to twelve weeks. I find after twelve weeks it doesn't really matter, as they stay tame anyway.
  14. Seen that a few times in pups, the grazes you mention I think are in fact burst blisters. I would carefully burst it and apply a mild antiseptic, It's nothing to worry about. Mike.

  16. Precisely ! says it all really and that's with two dogs . Yeah with proper law not carrying the dog upto the hare and dropping it on top of it they'll catch hares and some would be better than others but it's obvious they are not hare dogs per say it doesn't really have to be pointed out. f**k me ! don't get your knickers in a twist girlie !

  18. So how many match whippets can you name, I don't doubt whippets will catch hares from time to time, no doubt they might catch more than my old springer used to do. Any running dog will catch a few in a lifetime given the right circumstances but with all honesty, I've owned pedigree whippets that barely gained ground on rabbits on short grass that had maybe a 20 yard start. Then all i can say mate is you never had the right stock, only saluki cross owners claim to do 3out of3 5out5 ect question was can whippets do hares, yes they can but no dog has a 100% record on winter hares. Your ri

  21. I vote for Chihuahua ferrets !
  22. If inbreeding increases homozygosity, crossbreeding is its opposite and maximises heterozygosity. Crossbreeding is the mainstay of most farm animal and plant production - it takes advantage of a phenomenon which is widely talked about but poorly understood: HYBRID VIGOUR (or for the geneticists - HETEROSIS) is the term used to describe the burst of fertility, good health and growth that is seen in the progeny when two unrelated breeds are mated. The longer that these breeds have been separated, and the greater the differences between them, the stronger will be the resulting hybrid vigour.
  23. Yes and come to me and thats what they get ..............£25 a ferret and some at £50 I remember when ferrets cost 10 bob ( 50p in case you don't know ) mate, they were fed bread and milk, had their teeth snipped off and at the end of the season were flattened with a spade. Selling them for peanuts just encourages that type of disregard. Mike.
  24. There is NO logic in that mate. Any ferret bred should be well reared, tame, easy to handle and off good, proven working stock. Shouldn't that be the standard not some higher priced luxury model??? A higher price does not equate to a higher standard of ferret, and in general those selling for a higher price, are interested in the money rather than breeding the best. In my opinion money and working animals do not mix well. I have a litter just that this that was born a couple of days a go. What is surplus to my requirements will go to new homes for free. Ok, explain the
