  1. Folk say moochers dog and ferreting dog. But out of interest. . . what would the reverse x offer that a good half x (not necessarily 1st x) wouldn't?
  2. You'd be much better off with a heat lamp. And if you wanted one of those it could be made a lot cheaper. . .
  3. Aye, to be fair we never get any problems on our land, all the farmers are very happy. . . our biggest problem is doing too good a job, to not make it worth the graft. We'll get a place and be knocking off 30-50 a day couple of times a week or more, and soon enough it will be cleared, to the point where its big sets, lots of nets and only a couple at home, so then we just sack it off until the next year. What I meant was its tough watching good land be given away by farmers and lost by mates. . . . because they don't do a good enough job.
  4. Out of interest, are they all pure beagles?
  5. Cracking mate. If you are ever short of a pair of hands, give me a bell. And please, write as long tale as you want, it makes great reading
  6. Dare - You are right, it makes you more healthy in general I think. You reckon it could have out to do with eating too much in your diet before? You always suffered or it just came on recently. Also they do make Gluten Free lager and ale, its just expensive.
  7. Aye it's a bad trick, if someone takes you in their land you don't go back on it. But let me ask you something? If you were taken out by someone to help clear some of their land as the farmers were on at them.... You did a good job, killed a good bag. Happy farmer. Obviously you are at the mercy of when they call you in. However ..... They are less obsessive than you, and go out only occasionally. They don't really make a serious dent in the rabbits. And you know it doesn't wash with the farmer. But you can't say or do anything..... It's their land. Right up until the f
  8. Yokel - I think there is a lot of truth in what you say. . . . a lot of the allergies etc have to be put down to the foods that we have eaten as a society in the last 20 years or so, and also to the massive use of antibiotics. However, I think a lot of these things existed before, but just weren't diagnosed. IBS for example has been around for a long long time, but I think that it has just been used as a catch all term for certain food allergies. But you are right - we eat a lot of shit. When you cut it out, you realise how many things contain wheat that don't need to! Same with other
  9. Jesus Jim. . . that's terrible. Your love for your dogs has always come through strong in everything that you do. I can only imagine how you must feel. Chin up, keep on keeping on.
  10. Over the years of using them. . . . i've had enough moments where i'd have been proper fecked if i hadn't had one. . . . to appreciate just how essential they are.
  11. Now i've never been allergic or intolerant to anything in my life. . . and always put it down to growing up running about outside, playing in the dirt, eating anything etc. Healthy immune system, good food blah blah. Anyway, about a year ago, the doctors gave me a load of anti biotics for ages for something they mis diagnosed. Once i'd got it correctly sorted out etc, and the anti biopics stopped. . . I noticed my stomach was a bit f****d, didn't think much of it, but it didn't get better. Long story short, i'm not allergic / intolerant to gluten and dairy. Bit of a f****r as i LOVE fo

    Simoman

That's real tough. Fingers crossed for a good outcome. My thoughts to Simo and family
  13. Never seen one and maybe I never will... As has been said, to me a true top all round dog should be able to run down all quarry in all situations... But not just the odd time during its career out of luck or circumstance. With enough regularity that it could be classed as a dog for that particular quarry and that when the chase is on you have good faith in the dog to pull off a positive result. I've seen whippets take rabbit, hare, fox, deer, over their career... But they certainly weren't an all rounder by any stretch of the imagination! Getting the right dog and getting it on
  14. Too many Buzzards . . . .
  15. Deerman I'm not arguing with you matey. You know I've seen it used first hand to great affect. Folk just like to argue round in circles. Round and round Paulus - If it's a full moon. . . . you don't really need the candle
  16. It's not rocket science ffs. Night vision - see in the dark without a light. Lamp shy rabbits - run off when the light comes on. Night vision - helps you get close to lamp shy rabbits. And there is also the fact that the less the lamp is on, the less attention is drawn on 'hot' ground. Some folk use it. . . . and some folk seem really bothered that others do. . . . Bothered enough to argue about it on here for ten pages. And yer NL you're dead right . . . . looking at working running dogs is SHIT in comparison to arguing back and fore over and over about the same th
  17. Surely this is boring now??? What else is left to say? It's a joke that this kind of thing makes ten pages. . . . And plenty of hunting reports, and half interesting debates . . . . struggle to make one.
  18. RC1 - Minimum of 50, and as many as you have . . . . Collects here every 2 weeks, cash or bank transfer, no problems. It's an animal feeds supplier and they end up as bird or cat food I think. They do runs all over the country. Pays 2 quid for a hare. Must be frozen.
  19. Yer the young are starting to appear in force round here now, think most of our southern hunting is done for the year now. Might get a bit in further north though. . . . And Buzzards 100% hunt and kill live prey, i've had the displeasure of watching the c**ts at it many many times. . . .
  20. I know a lad who collects as many as possible nation wide, dogged, ferreted or head shot, frozen, £1 a rabbit. Better than nowt.
