  1. If both have the same drive in an open scrap the good big un will win everytime. However my wee russell puts off much bigger dogs, if they got stuck into him he'd be f*cked, but usually he doesn't give them a chance to think about it and just piles in. One handy thing is they can fit into some stupid places when they are real small. I wouldn't necessarily have a small dog as my only dog (although i could be swung by the particular dog) but they are definately a handy tool to have in the box. Also depends if they become a bayer or a dog that piles in. A hard, small dog that always gets stuck in
  2. 4 is an even number. Actually f*ck that you need 5, a running dog and a decent terrier. You think an extra dog is tough. Try convincing your misses you need a pack of hounds . . . thats an interesting argument. atb Jai.
  3. You ever get any problems with them falling? atb Jai.
  4. Evening. Who amongst you fine folk makes 3.5 foot hemp purse nets of outstanding quality and durability?
  5. I hope they all turn out healthy for you mate, silver to silver matings are often riddled with health problems or just generally live a lot shorter. Hope all goes well tho. About feeding - rabbit actually has very little fat and so wont put on much weight, its just protein. So what you need is something with natural fat like birds - pigeon is great. This will add weight. Don't use feral pigeons tho as they are riddled with disease. atb Jai.
  6. It's got worse since the ban. Anyone noticed this? Jai.
  7. Thats why i'm glad i live in the middle ok no where. Jai.
  8. Does that make those kits silver x silver? Jai.
  9. One thing i've noticed - these kind of lads VERY rarely live in the countryside and hunt where they live. They usually live in town and come out here to dig, and they treat it like a ram raid. Not that everyone from a town is like that obviously. But you know the type i mean . . . Jai.
  10. I've met some smart bin men in my time . . . but thats another story. Jai.
  11. People cant dig a fox without a good dog... Im not being argumentative mate, I know these people are worse than dog shit...but who would let their pride and joy go to scrotes like this - refer to the puppy prices thread FTB Your right mate. I just meant that if someone didnt sell them a decent terrier they would just buy a lurcher, gun, ferret, lowered white vauxhall nova or something else and be an equally big pain in the f*cking arse. And yes - i would NEVER sell/give a pup to anyone i didnt respect and who i wouldnt be able to keep tabs on. And if they turned out to abuse it
  12. Nae worries pal - good to let steam off isn't it! What kind of land you running up your way? I realised recently that i have very rarely hunted anything that wasn't a hill. If its flat - its just the botton of a hill! Hills hills hills hills. . . . . .F*CKING hills. Thats my rant! Keeps you fit mind. Jai.
  13. Also your right - no one sells a decent adult dog. However if your suggesting ferreting rabbits and letting them go to train your dog then someone needs to give you a good hard slap. atb Jai.
  14. Approach them with a couple of friends and have a stern word. Need to protect out sport, can't just stand by and do f**k all, especially if you know who they are and what they do. Jai.
  15. How does that in any way answer the question? Also you are the only one 'you know of'. Not all dog men are obsessed with comparisons or showing other how much or how hard they work their dogs. no offence. Jai.
  16. To be fair the antis only do our sport half the damage that these so called terrier men / lurcher men do. It's funny cos since the ban i've noticed a massive rise in people interested in hunting fox, hare, deer etc with dogs (digging or coursing) and a huge number of these folk that have newly arrived on the scene (just cos it was on the news and its now illegal) are a f*cking disgrace. It will be them and not the antis or the ban that finally kills our sport. They are the ones who dig, lamp and shoot all summer, calling it 'pest control' cos it makes them feel superior (discounting those
  17. It's exactly like kids - there has always been the debate about will nature or nurture have the greater deciding factor in how a person or animal will turn out. To be a truly great dog i think it takes both. That doesn't mean that you need famous lines or names, just a dam and sire( and preferably further back) that have proven that they can do their job and that they are free of health defects. These kind of pups seem to have it from a young age, at 8 weeks they are already alert, watching, ready to chase, and exhibit all the makings of a great dog even before you do a thing. Howe
  18. http://www.mikeswhippets.com/ It works mate. Jai.
  19. Excellent bloke. Excellent dogs. £300 mind, but worth it. Jai.
  20. 1st thing don't breed any kind of silver hob to your silver jill or you will end up with a litter of genetically weak and possibly deformed kits. Put a good polecat over her as they will be free from traits and you will get the normal spread of colours. Or if your wanting more silver kits (and this is highly questionable) use an albino. Jai.
  21. Aye buddy - the wee fella is eating about 4 times a day. At the moment he is on beta puppy with some meat mashed in for most meals with a bit of scrambled egg and more meat thrown in. Jai.
