Yes you said that before .... I am sure that you are the best shot in the UK .... Lets see some pics! Tell us a story about your latest great shot! Do you have any hunting video's to post... ? Written a book on hunting lately? Tell us about your falcons or hawks .... Never claimed to be the best shot in the u.k - and funnily enough carrying a camera and film crew about when out hunting isn't really that normal around these parts. And no - no books written here. . . . . Falcons and hawks - what the f*cks that got to do with anything? If you don't have a sensible answer to a c

I guess that we are just a bit different over here in that if the situation is such that we KNOW that we cannot take a clean shot we will leave the animal, rather than hope to blast a few holes in it and slow it down enough to dispatch. But each to their own i guess. Also - what relevance do muslims have to this thread?

If you read the write up they reckon it was only about 6 feet away. . . . and they missed. . . . Maybe someone should buy them a shotgun . . . . or some glasses.

I posted this exact link in Earthdogs and Working Terriers Posted 25 April 2010 - 09:54 AM My brother sent me this link.... I don't know these hunters so I can't answer any questions...Just thought of how you blokes are always bragging about chasing fox and badgers into hole's in the ground... http://trophyroom.co...deo/lls8ViwJcT/ SGS Clint I understand that you have a deep respect for all animals and your reasoning that all hunting is done to control pests and or problem animals..... That is not hunting that is pest control.... And with fox's and Badgers in the UK pest contr

It's funny - say that YOU wouldn't want to kill something and your an 'animal rights wacko'.
  7. Both excellent - i'd probably go for the latter though - would make a very handy ferreting/bushing dog as well as being decent for the lamp.
  8. Thats me - eagle eyes . . . . bunnies don't stand a chance. . . . i wear an eye patch to even it up a bit!
  9. Aye man - seen some wierd and wondeful colors. Think the strangest was half and half - looked like someone had dipped the rabbit in a tin of white paint. Oh and didnt you say 'i start at the back end of october so all the field are perfect for the dog and stop hunting when theres too many baby rabbits running about'
  10. You just get that feeling. . . . .it just feels right. And then when it's over . . . . again - you just know.
  11. Don't most folk know some one who would do THAT kind of pest control for free? I mean its just letting someone on their land with a shotgun. IMO apart from large contracts (which are more likely to go to established contractors) the main stay would be wasps, bees, and the use of poison on rodents??? Just a though. Also - how old are you?
  12. heres one mate, my dog is 25.5tts he wieghs 64 pound his back length is 23.5" he is alsation/collie X whippet/greyhound. Cheers matey! Everyone else - fascinating discussion, i guess the only way really would be to get a lot of dogs and race them and try and work out some kind of pattern - although i think there would be too many other factors. Interesting though . . . .
  13. Yep - thats what i was trying to put into dog terms.
  14. They are for hunting angora rabbits from cotton wool burrows.
  15. Everyone is always quoting their dogs height to the shoulder, and weight, however no one ever mentions their dogs length. As far as i am aware (and i could be wrong) - Speed = length of stride x frequency of stride which would mean that a dogs speed would be directly affected by its length, as well as fitness, feeding, height, weight etc. So what i was hoping was to get some idea of comparison by people putting up their dogs breed, height, weight AND length. Would be interesting to see what differing lengths dogs of the similar height/weight could be. I'm guessing you would just measur
  16. Mate - i'm not jumping on any band wagon - just what i have seen and yes i do not doubt there may well be other factors at play. Simple thing for me is like i said for the price of the jab or running a vac hob i just simply do not wish to take any risks with the health of my team. As for having the right to an opinion - i totally agree - however as i learnt before it is important to have a balanced answer to these questions not just an assertion that one way is right and everyone else is a fool. If you noticed i never said 'they will definately die' i just said that there was a potenti
  17. o and also white blood cell production is inhibited which makes them more susceptible to infection.
  18. They will not all automatically die but apart from the infection aspect they DO sometimes get stick in perpetual season and due to estrogen hormone production over an extended period bone marrow cells are inhibited from dividing which leads to a reduction in red blood cells and hence they become anemic. The symptoms of which are lethargy and general un-ferretness - but by the time these symptoms are noticed it is too late. No none of mine have died like this but i have seen it happen. Not nice.
  19. You been living on another planet? have you??? how many jills you lost through not taking them out of season??? how many people do you know that have ???? and what do you do when they come back into season after being with a v-hob??? mate them up again??? load of bollocks if you ask me mate. known ferrets reach double figures that have never been brought out, yet another money spinner for the vets if you ask me................... Fair enough buddy - but i'll take science over your opinion. Nothing against you - i too have known ferrets live to an old age without being take
  20. To be fair the fellas ferrets could have made it that long without being mated - but that would be lucky (not impossible) and i just would not risk the health or happiness of my wee warrior weasels for the price of the jabs or keeping a vac hob.
  21. Better than corrie on here. Fence Hopper has DEFINITELY grown on me though.
  22. Whats with the text talk? As for having to be a stupid 'cant' to sell them on here . . . . you been reading half the threads lately?
  23. When i was young my dad kept albinos of a greyhound 'type' it is not a different breed, just a different type that if bred together produced similar type ferrets. They looked a lot like Magwitchs - they were not small but lean, long, with a high arched back and a more pointed nose - they were also incredibly quick. My dad would keep the whole litter and then run them all on - selecting the most 'greyhound' type to continue the breeding line Some of these 'greyhounds' were sold or given to others - and when mated to a normal looking ferret they would produce a mixed litter and then in a couple
  24. Seen a manchester x jack. Good dog.
