  1. 'I think', 'my opinion'. . . . . . . if your not going to listen to what the folk in the know tell you, then why ask - just get your dog, jump in your motor and head up there and find out for yourself. Maybe you'll be lucky, maybe you won't.
  2. Walking through the city where my girlfriend lives it's always nice to turn a cornor and come face to face with charlie, better than running into yet another piss head. . . . But they do get pretty mangy and diseased . . . . . . and can be a pest.
  3. Still sounds like hormones matey - shes acting like her sister is her kit and sees you as a threat and so is trying to see you off. Mental little buggers.
  4. could be moulting due to weather - but it does sound a bit extreme.
  5. You can take your f*cking pick on here.
  6. tbh - big flat land where there is only ONE thing a bloke with a saluki cross is going to be doing . . . . hotter than a good vindaloo.
  7. Seen plenty of handleable hybrids, and also seen some vicious ones . . . to be fair i think it's more to do with the owner, some folk just don't put the needed time into them, those that do end up with a ferret that is quick as a snake. . . . One thing i have noticed is that tend to be a bit quicker to kill in.
  8. Aye - i'd wait until 10 months +, depending on the breed and the individual dogs maturity. But basicly you want the dog to succeed on its first few early runs so that it builds its confidence and doesnt end up yapping or being put off. atb Jai.
  9. Was there not also a litter in the countrymans joke of the same x?
  10. Belated Happy Birthday buddy! Hope you had a good one. . . . you really should write that book! atb Jai.
  11. Like has been said before - 8 weeks is probably best or the pup will miss out on vital socialization with its litter mates and dam, however sometimes having a pup at six weeks due to unavoidable circumstance can make it really stick to you for exactly the above reason . . . . but it can also make it a bit socially retarded. . . . . . in a doggy kind of way.
  12. Don't buy em matey - just encourages the idiots to sell them silly money. Color makes no difference to work and any genuine person will give em to you for same as any other. I somehow doubt she's breeding for working ability. sounds good advice.just like the look of em thats all. Me to - but i'd buy one off someone who has a litter of kits and happens to have a bew, rather than someone who is trying to breed litters of bews cos they can sell them for more - if that makes sense? Same with silvers - i bought one out of a litter of mixed for a fiver i think, but some folk pay 40 q

  14. Watch out . . . . he'll be calling you an 'animal rights nut' any time soon.
  15. SPOT ON! I think what hes saying is that he finds it easier to peddle black and tan colored lurchers to idiots who think they are pretty, those same people he sells to apparently consider scruffy lurchers or anything not 'black and tan' as being the hallmark of a 'traveller' and so unacceptable. He seems to have missed the fact that most folk breed for working ability not markings or colour. He is helping is understand how we can achieve something we never wanted to achieve. He is retarded.
  16. Harness . . . where were you taking him? Tescos? atb Jai.
  17. So my point is my dogs are rare and in demand, and they dont end up like most lurchers which are breed to look like travelers dogs, I`m sorry to say, its sad but true.! Anyway off for a days match fishing against my brother in law. Have a nice day you lot, and just think about where the pups your breeding are ending up.! its no joke, or dont you really care about dogs. Mate - you live in your own little world where you seem to think what the dog looks like is of ultimate importance to a lurcher man/woman. If the dog ends up in a shelter it's because it's crap at doing it's j

  19. Lots of people used to go to Scunthorpe for a holiday, now they can go to Hawaii. Not saying the new dogs are 'better' but things do change and move on and amongst all the dross and waste from failed experiments there are also some crackers . . .
