  1. would you say all that to fence hoppers face jai :hmm: i think not Are you a little confused? How was that in any way aimed at Fence Hopper??? I'm agreeing with him. And also if i did think ill of fence hopper and he was standing here of course i would say it to his (or anyone elses) face.
  2. Yes there are some IDIOT pet owners who really shouldn't be allowed dogs, but the same also applies to a lot of folk who work their dogs. The idea that you MUST work your dog in order to have a proper connection is bollocks, i mean look at some of the homeless folk - their dogs f*****g LOVE them. Also i always find it funny, we try so hard and feel so proud when we have our dogs recalling and retrieving live to hand, and so many pet owners don't even think about it - little fluffy always comes when called and will bring a ball back to hand a hundred times.
  3. This is probably going to offend you but if your ferrets need to be hungry to work well them they are not very good ferrets. Mine are not working for food, hence if they kill they just go looking for other rabbits and dont feed, they are working because thats what they love to do.
  4. I'm not interested unless they are silver eu polecat x angoras mate.
  5. Depends how big your hobs willy is i suppose
  6. Like stubby said - just find the best hob about and use him, don't worry about color. you will likely get a couple silvers anyhow.
  7. You shouldn't breed silver to silver matey. Genetic issues abound.
  8. This forum is great - there must be about 30 rotating posts. Maybe we should have a pinned thread for this kind of stuff. I (and i think most others on here) would feed a decent meal the night before and then a couple of hours before ferreting feed a light breakfast, maybe an egg and some meat and then will probably give a kidney or something during the day with water.
  9. Ninja ferrets mate - rabbits can't see them coming.
  10. Funnily enough the best grown dogs i've seem exchanged were free, the ones that were sold as adults for cash tended to be ruined or lacking in one way or another.
  11. Agouti is made of a huge number of colours, and varients are expressed, where one colour is dominat - hence white, black, ginger etc. Look at a normal rabbits fur - it's made up of black, white, grey, ginger hairs. I once saw a half white, half normal rabbit.
  12. It's all of the excuses that get me - 'it's pest control' - o aye 6 rabbits - what a f*****g result, bet that saved the farmers grass. 'I'll lose my permission' - your poaching any way you twat and if not you obviously did a piss poor job over winter. 'I've gotta keep the dogs fit' - give em a break, if they don't need one, you obviously aint trying hard enough in winter. All of it boils down to - i'm bored and have no self control. COCK MUNCHERS.
  13. poacher i love how much of a dickhead you are , all the negativity you bring is fantastic :feck:Another muppet with nothing constructive to say listen to your self mate. so what the guy put his name to his stuff just like artist sign thare work with thare name whats the big deal ? MUG!
  14. Any question about working animals that uses the word 'best' is usually total bollocks. 'Whats the best x' - ffs.
  15. Yup - thats why i mostly feed rabbit, keeping ferrets is good like that. It's just that a lot of folk don't really use their brain and seem to be like - rabbit is the best, healthiest and most enjoyable food for the ferrets - it's not, it's just often the most convenient. Mine get rabbit, pigeon, duck, pheasant, deer and much more during the season.
  16. It's not black and white is it and that should be f*****g obvious or your a retard. I have ferrets as 'pets', i work them very hard during the season at least 3-4 days a week. I would not keep any pet that does not have a working use, and is from a working line/breed. My pet dogs are a running dog and terrier. I pet them, they are my pets, hey i even wrestle with the dogs on the lawn and throw balls for them. My ferrets ARE cute and cuddly and i do fuss them and play with them. All of these animals are working pets. Then there are the pet owners who try to change a breed/animal to what they wa
  17. Just put 3500 birds in the pens!

  18. Plummer lurcher - what a load a f*****g bollocks, don't encourage the idiots or we will see adverts popping up all over this site for them. It's a collie x, and his weren't even that good. If anything is a 'plummer' lurcher is what gets churned out by that puppy farming animal abuser Hancock. Same ethics.
  19. To be fair it's a bit strange getting any animal without knowing what to feed it on. Half the problem we have with dogs, ferrets etc is that folk get them when they 'don't have a clue'.
  20. 8 months pluss - but i'm never in a hurry - i always bring kits into the team a season or two before i'm going to really need them, i let them do a bit from 8 months, a few small ones, then a few bigger ones with an experienced ferret. I wouldn't expect much until their second season, and then they get going season 3.
  21. Make a shit ton of promises. . . . . . and then keep them.
  22. So many folk here only think about what they can get out of it.
  23. stubby thats not becuase the hobs are better than jills, its just that 1 hob is better than the jill. i have done exactly the same thing but the other way round, thats just 1 ferret being better than another, regardless of sex. Spot on - there are traits true of sexes, i/e hobs do grow larger as a rule and can take more knocks etc, but then i like to use small hobs and have one jill thats as big as a lot of hobs and a jill thats a midget. I've got a jill thats like lightening and one that plods At the end of the day as you said a lot is down to the ferret and not the sex. I find
