AGA - That's the plan mate, i've promised the Mrs that in five years i'll have turned this three acres into one hundred. . . . FOD - I'll PM you later mate
-
FOD - Yes you can! Moel - It is indeed a draper tool, and although some don't quite get on with it, and its no monkey strainer, i've done a lot of fencing with it recently and it does the job well for me. . . . kept pigs in anyway! Blue barrel sillage is good, used to wrap the barrels in cling film type stuff, and chuck some molasses into the barrels before sealing them. The plan is to just give the geese somewhere to graze, eventually i'll grass more and run a couple of sheep maybe. Although to be fair, now i'm swinging way more toward renting another 20 or 30 acres and just crack

I hope you nail the b*****ds to the wall mate.
-
Yer I saw it . . . . f**k me, i'd hate to be trapped on there with that lot, give me one or two sound folk any day, or if I can't have that, let me crack on alone. If you put me on there with that bunch of useless muppets. . . . . it'd all go very lord of the flies, very quick.

The pork is great, out of this world! And yep, John boy, the sire is a ped Pietrain, and the sow was a landrace/welsh/large white mix. You can tell a pietrain by the arse! Just like the Belgium Blue in cattle or the Beltex in Sheep, those belgiums make some cracking terminal sires! Shroom - aye mate, our green and pleasant land is something special.

Clootie off?

I'm wondering if he had some kind of weapon on him, i.e a knife, was lying down, but didn't drop it. Seems odd to do that in front of a big crowd of witnesses. . . . for no reason. Every ne knows its gonna be filmed. I'm no fan of the police, but that seemed a bit weird. And why no shirt? That puts me of someone any way
-
Whats odd, is that the guy on the floor wasn't being held down, the police didn't look like they wanted to jump on him, and used the dog. . . . I wonder why?

Could be doable with a lamb, but I think the average weight, of even a good lamb, would be around 35-40 kilo, probably 25-30 kilo dead weight. My pigs kill out at around 60 kilo dead weight. . . . you'd have things like tyson by the time it was cooked!
-
No mate, they are hybrids, a mix of landrace/pietrain/welsh/large white, and the biggest difference. . . . is the conformation on the back end. You can't see from the photos, but they have an almost double muscle thing going on, great rounded back ends for big chops etc. . . . hopefully eventually I will be able to produce pigs of the same shape, but that look like saddlebacks, so its the best of both worlds, a dark, docile pig that lives outside well etc, but with the carcass of a hybrid meet pig.

She's my all round, general purpose dog mate. She rides on the quad around the shoot, check traps, does ratting, dogs in with me, i've shot pigeon, pheasant and partridge over / with her. She used to retrieve well but has stopped for some reason. Although towards the end of last season, she took a sudden dislike to shooting, and has decided she doesn't like guns . . . . .

The Thl Picnic lol.
-
Yer, this came up recently, and my feelings are, as good as it'd taste, i'd feel like a right c**t Muntjack?
-
Pigs are heavy as feck Kev mate, so the spit would have to be pretty hard core. Also usually they now just bake them in ovens and lay them out on trays, so not quite sure how you would turn a 70 kilo animal with a metal bar shoved through successfully by hand, and get an even cooking job done, without it all falling apart or giving yourself a hernia. Probably easier to just use the oil drum to make a big barbie and sausage the pig
-
Atleast it's the flavour of your sausage this time mate and not the size like usual.... I bet one flavour is Cheese......... No mate, it's pig and spicy pig. I'm dairy intolerant.
-
So that's me back at ten pigs again, a long with fourteen assorted poultry, and the gang of assorted dogs and ferrets Might get some more ducks, been having eggs every day and they are great, better than chickens I reckon Oh yer, also forgot to say, i've started on the veg, got some lettuce greens, rocket etc out now, some chillis and peppers, and a herb garden started. Going to get some sweet corn in next, and look into some fodder crops like sugar beat or something, to replant the old pig pens. Saw a rat today at the pig trough, so a half dozen fens and a few cages will

Well, i've won feck all and I only have two flavours. . . . . . I feel rather inadequate

DandN - In terms of range, my bitch is happy to go when she needs to, and will hunt way off, as a hound should, but in day to day bushing, she can also be made to work close, and is generally very biddable, mind you, when on something, you have no chance, and I think the mans hounds are similar. Mine speaks well, she will track an older scent, but won't speak on it, which is handy, when she starts speaking, you know its hot scent, and when she screams you know she can see what she is after. Tyla - Aye, and just imagine the fun you would have with half a dozen ollies Bullx - i'll

After having a bit of a wobble yesterday, i'm back on track, and instead of giving up . . . . i've gone the other way. Can't keep up with orders for pork. . . . . so here are the new arrivals. Really pleased to get these particular pigs as they are something that i've been looking for, for a while Should finish, with excellent carcass conformation
-
Gutting! Could have got a real nice pig for it But aye, i'll throw in some of my home reared sausages, and some other bits and bobs.
-
First thing I would've done was cut your hair for some kindling LOL. Number one priority would be rizla. Number two fire. Then we'd be grand.
-
Yep, to be honest he was pretty annoying, just lots of whining and whinging.
-
Yer it was done before BAW. But the best one was where they were left on a Scottish island to live off the land and prosper, and built a school, medical place etc etc. Proper community.
-
Bear Grylls is a fraud. I always used to say, my biggest fear about being trapped on a desert island if my plane went down. . . . . . . is the rest of the useless fuckers i'd be on there with.

I've emptied my inbox now! I do love these types, getting the wee bitch a couple of years a go has really changed my hunting and now every walk has great music and some really great hunts have been had. Hope your pup does you well Gaz.
