  1. Finn is back in working order, on all four feet at the moment. The 'pup' is now a lump, doing well, just needs lots of work throwing at her, and constant reminding of her manners as the drive in her is strong and she's stubborn as feck. The hound is absolutely flying, had a summer of lazing around and this season she has really upped her game, absolute dream to work. So aye, dog wise i'm happy at the moment. Been looking at the empty kennel i've got though and having some thoughts. Finn might be making babies after the season. . . . . .
  2. We need to get out on a Sunday to that place, lots of red coats running around there. We also need to go to that place by me, they have felled a lot and opened the woods right up, better running now. But need shitty weather for it. Or it'll just get emotional for someone Edited to add - Summer only f****d off last week, nows the time to get out proper. Fingers crossed we get a real cold snap to kill off the cover a bit, and drive everyone else indoors.
  3. If it goes wrong, you will still have and angry, tough bushing dog. But the bugger will be mute lol. Lost Gwen earlier, found her up a drain, after it got dark. Only because I heard the snorting lol.
  4. Aye, no worries matey. Still can't believe you lot thought i'd Jack. P.S Hound went to ground earlier. Drainage tube, and didn't find her till after dark. Oh aye, and Bree is a lump now.
  5. Aye, well apparently, if you stop posting on THL folk think your dead. . . . including the ones that know you in the real world lol. But no, very much alive. Just incredibly busy with the dogs, sheep, pigs, ferrets, gamekeepering, work etc etc. Not much time for sitting around in the evenings on the laptop. But thought a visit was due when wales12345 said folk were worried. Poor wee lambs
  6. Well, if nowt else Ow, he will be angry, noisy and driven. What more could you want?
  7. You've got a lurcher, i've got a hound. . . . . I win P.S Your pig comes back tomorrow afternoon. Come get it when you want it!
  8. Right, I need to update this a bit! Still need to build a barn, but things have expanded a bit. Registered as a business now, up to 47 sheep, around 20 pigs and assorted poultry. Had a cracking litter out of my saddleback sow. Also managed to acquire some more land, so now messing around with around 30 acres (still only own 3 and a bit!), mostly rented. Onwards and upwards!
  9. Aye, I got your prayers shroom. By the way, the hound is flying at the moment, and raring to go. She certainly isn't broken to deer though! But between Owains Jack and my Gwen, and Tylas Ollie (you know he's coming) there won't be much we won't get moving. P.S Did you REALLY think i'd bail? Edited to add - I'll be bringing a pair of radios, a hound, a big knife and a first aid kit. If I could borrow a tracker collar for the hound it'd be much appreciated, she has found her feet . . . .
  10. Right, just for the record, I'm still very much game for this. Just because i've not been on THL, doesn't mean i'm dead lol. Anyone who wants me, knows my number
  11. Thanks lads, the whippet did his foot, he's ok, just resting up. Young lurcher bitch hit the pole, to be fair could have been a lot worse, she missed a rabbit, hunted up a bit, put another one up, and in the dark, ran it into the pole. Thought she'd f****d herself but think she's just bruised and sore.
  12. Bit of an odd one, but does anyone local (ish) to me have a few rabbits I can blag / buy. Must be edible for humans, skins on. . . . . guts in a bonus. Don't mind if frozen or fresh. Basically need some for a kids summer camp i'm working at on Wednesday . . . . . so need them tomorrow! Before any smart arse asks why I don't catch them myself. . . . . one dog smashed its foot, and the other hit a telegraph pole last night . . . . Any help much appreciated! Jai.
  13. Where about BM. If you are in my kneck of the woods, give me a shout.
  14. I'll get it done this weekend JB.
  15. Haymins sorted out tea Should be a good bbq.
  16. Good. . . . but slow . . . . I'll send them at 70 kilo, so 60 comes back and a half pig is 30+ kilo. The Saddlebacks are currently about 55 kilo, ready to eat but better value to add 20 kilo to them. Sorry about the delay, they are 2 months behind schedule, whereas the pie train x went off two months before schedule.
  17. Often down to the feeding mate. How much were you feeding them each day?
  18. Which of you homos didn't want to go play in November. . . . own up!
  19. BM - But that's a PUP. . . . it's 4 months. I'd only just really be starting stock breaking then. . . . well. . . . you know what I mean. It's only been away from the bitch for a couple of months. It's like saying "I brought a pup home at 8 weeks, it pissed on the rug, so I rehomed it because its obviously always going to piss in the house, so needs to live in a kennel".
  20. To be fair, i've emailed the lass some kind words of wisdom r.e dog training, given her some idea of how to break a dog to sheep. Up to her now.
  21. http://www.preloved.co.uk/adverts/show/111457282/beautiful-sheepdog-brown-white-puppy-free-2-good-home.html Nice looking pup here for somebody. They want rid because it seems to want to chase sheep . . . . . at 3/4 months old. Apparently that means it should live in a town. The mind boggles.
  22. No lol. No dogs, no kids haha. They might not get on too well with the pigs.
  23. 5 pm. Sorry lads been flat out!
  24. Now, you get all kinds of hassle if you are sending outdoor pigs to slaughter, new regs etc. So lucky about that new barn Sent one off last monday and have another going next wednesday, both pie train x. Got a saddle back and another two pie train x going end of month and then some OSB's in September. Had a couple back recently, real nice, about 65 kilo of meat back from each, with a nice, but not too big layer of fat. Also got a sow due to farrow end of month, saddle back sow AI'd to a pie train. If all goes well, should make some nice pigs. I do really enjoy keeping them, r
  25. Good good. I think those of us coming a long should pay some kind of five quid deposit or whatever, just so that JB isn't out of pocket for paying for stuff, and maybe a good idea to do it before we start drinking lol.
