  1. I'm defiantly starting to get that impression from searching through threads on here and chatting to a few folk
  2. Western Siberian hunting dog, bit like a malamute or husky. Pull a sled or tree a bear etc.
  3. Our very worst enemies are from within our own sport. No wonder the general public and many farmers hate lurchers. . . . . . . Keep head down and mouth shut, and be careful who you associate with.
  4. FP - What way are the two terrier looking dogs (Brian and ???) bred, and what are their working styles? PM me if you would rather.
  5. Alright. . . . I deleted my original reply, because I thought it was a little harsh. But no.. . . . you're a prick. I rarely post on here anymore, but I've noticed all that you do is come on here and try to talk down to people and act like you are some kind of superior knowledgable being. Well. . . . if you've nought helpful to contribute, then go play with traffic. What I was asking, was, does anyone own . know of, a particularly driven 3/4 terrier 1/4 beagle dog that is used for 'bushing' / hunting. I am looking for a dog that hunts well, has some kind of voice, is relatively bi
  6. Yes I do believe that the most populated place is East Sussex, and also that they occupy smaller pieces of woodland and so would be easier to spot etc.
  7. Who owns a really good, hard, driven one, that likes getting stuck in to quarry as much as it likes hunting it?

    Collar

Our dogs nearly always have collars on when working. Gps or bellman and flint.
  9. Cheers all! Flacko - He's a whippet mate and he's lined two bitches recently, so fingers crossed. FOD - That could well be it mate.
  10. He's been a good dog, and taken some bangs and bumps over the years. For a little 22" dog, he's caught some game, spending his early life as the side kick of an unemployed full time wildlife botherer Hopefully he will come back strong, it would be a shame to retire him, rising six, he still has a few good years left. Probably more years than he has teeth! He's currently lying on the armchair licking his balls, so I think he's on the mend, fingers crossed
  11. They think most likely something he caught through his knock, or something that infected the cut in his mouth, or even something he picked up when I washed him down in the stream after and let him drink.
  12. As some of you might know I had a bad week with Finn. Had him out the week before and he smashed a few teeth out. He's had plenty of knocks and I thought he was fine. Seemed a bit quiet for a few days then perked up. But started looking a bit quiet at the end of last week. Was out on Sunday with the dogs having a mooch, and got a phone call from home 'you need to get back quick the dogs not right', he was running a really high temp, his heart racing like mad and his head starting to jerk about. . . . . So I left the hound baying like mad on a hillside after her quarry, very lucky
  13. Both my running dogs are total and utter knob heads in some (many) ways. Still catch enough stuff to make me happy though. But by christ on occasions I just look at the collie and hound and think. How can those other two be such arseholes girls?
  14. Didn't realise you took a photo mate! Brill. Funny that happened and I wasnt even there! Really hope she takes, should make some cracking pups!
  15. It's ok, he still has three and a half canines, so he can do what he needs to! He's just missing quite a few of the side teeth, and all of the front bottom teeth!
  16. Cheers lads. No i'm not having a pup, one whippet is quite enough for me! But i'm glad I've got some of his blood on the ground. Finn is currently in sick bay after smashing out (another) few teeth. . . . . . not a lot left now!
  17. If the game is there is droves and the dog is decent, you will catch big numbers, bigger than some people will ever see. If the game isn't there, no matter how decent the dog is, you won't catch big numbers. It's just life. But why worry, go take the dog for a walk instead.
  18. Looks like she took. Pups should (fingers crossed) be on the ground start of October. Think there might be a spare pup if anyone (who's not a bell end) wants one.
  19. 100% bang on. My lad will work whatever the weather, but it defiantly takes it out of him more being stood about then the heavier coated dogs. Ferreting in sub zero temperatures, he can look pretty miserable, but bushing he's not bothered in the slightest.
  20. Funnily enough . . . . . Ive got a nice range of 'bushing' type dogs here to see the differences lol. Got - Cocker Russel Whippet Hound x Collie Lurcher Interesting to see their different styles!
  21. Depends what quarry, what ground and what to. . . you are bushing.
