    I live nearish to what was a weapons factory in ww2, it got bombed a lot, so they made a kind of bunker, munitions store, shelter thing up in the woods on the side of a hill. I found it one day and it has a small drop hole down into a series of underground rooms, no one else seems to know where it is although a few ppl know of its existence. Its pretty cool.

    Not the best photo of it, but not all collies work in that standoff ish, stare down manner. All three of the ones I've got here will speak (bark) and bite and nip on command as well as rush in and push sheep hard, but this bitch lives to run them down and get them to the ground.

    Funnily enough I was working sheep with a patter dale yesterday. . . . . in the dark Filling a race and loading and unloading trailers. He'd nip and chase on command and leave off when told.

    They do fight like feck and its tusks one side and wee sharp point horns the other, and due to their size the dog has one of other battering it if they get a proper hold.

    One thing I've really noticed lately is how varied collies are. Im working three regular at the moment, often side by side and they have very different attitudes and temperaments. In the case of what I'm doing with them its great as they fulfil different roles. But only one out of three would I think be the right kind to produce a lurcher. The other two are physically sound and great in many ways but the third is just a much simpler, tougher animal who works in a direct and forceful manner with no backing down.     They look lazy b*****ds most border collies have the ability to run next to a quad all day with easy. Get em off and next to you lol no use on the quad We had to go a couple of miles in land to find the sheep and no point going slow lol. They spend most of their day on their feet working 1500 at a time quite often, but average mob is 600 plus. Also work cattle. The only time they are on the quad apart from whizzing up the roads, is when I'm doing something else, they are told to sit on the quad and stay out the way.     It was a half serious question that occurred to me today. . . .? The sheep was totally unharmed by the way, and was actually better off following the incident as she had been grabbed for some antibiotic treatment.

    In my experience one of the hardest deer to catch is a fecking ninja muntjac in the woods! Fallow bucks are strong. Roe are agile. Both seem about as fast as each other in the open.

    Jackknife. - no I didn't say that! But I seem to remember that it was the pretty right wing bush administration that got us into this shit at the start. I'm not sure lurching from one extreme to the other for relatively short periods of time does much for the governance of a country. Some nice non extremist sane person would be great. Unfortunatly we've only got politicians to choose from!

    Why should a religion be allowed to advertise in cinemas....... It's just weird! R.e the baker - they discriminated against an individual I.e it would be equivalent to the cinema not allowing a Christian family in to watch a film. As Chris said it's merely a Buisness decision....... Not some crazy pro Islam thing so calm down!
