check where he would go for water, pigs are like cattle and often use the same track each day so be on the lookout for tracks etc leading away from water, once you find where he is walling and drinking just wait there at different times throughout the day,in the middle of the heat is good as they are never to far away from water when hot
the last couple i have taken were up around monto qld, and they can run like the wind.these were taken with a deerhound/stag/pit. while they were near a dam going for water.i think if you have a fast hard dog with a good mouth then you can easily take them if you can somehow ge them out in the open country a bit more,,maybe drop a dead beast there for food?..they put up a goodfight but do not last long and like i said if you have a dog with a good mouth of him you will take em
plenty of dingo's near me and even more wild dogs.they tend to just frk of before you even get close .but on accasions yo uwill get one in the light that will stand for you to take a shot.the wild dogs are really casuing havoc in se qld aust at the moment and the councils are dcarrying out baiting programs so if ya out ya have to watch ya dogs..i have a mate that traps for a local council here and he is allways getting plenty
a fella over here has a lovely line of english bull greyhounds going and they are tops on hogs, but most your purebreds do well also, ridgebacks being one
i have worked a fair few deerhound and there cross's on pigs and i would rate them as highly as i would any other hunting dog in australia..they tend to take a little bit longer than a lot of the other breeds we use here but once they switch on there is no stopping them
mate in all honesty there are not much chop in the pure form,,where abouts are you from,,maybe go check out a few local hunters seewhat dogs they are running for your type of terrain and purchse a couple young dogs from them..
strong stuff if you want an idea ,you have to put two buckles on it over here in australia we have tried the one buckle ones but they just arn;'t up to it .they flex to easy
i like how ya said i am showing it not selling it then go on to say "Please if there's any price enquiries etc, can it be by PM"lmfao...i thought ya wern't selling it...anyhow like wise send me one over here to australia and i'll test it out and pass the word around.plenty of pig chasers over here
be shore to look us up.i am not very far at all from where your planning on heading there are also a lot of otherhunters in the area.and i'm shore between most of us you will have plenty of blokes willign to take you out after game.my site is in my signiture look it up when ya get here and we go for a hunt
mate when they deviate suddenely to the outside of track on first turn it could be a couple of things, first thing that comes to mind is she has sore right hip support .or she has sore right gracilis(back) muscle.you can bet if you had these checked out by a muscle man or a vet that is your problem,,
like brother fox has said any dog can turn into a decent pig dog .i have saw so called line bred pig dogs by some big breeders over here and they are no better than something you get out of the paper for free and give the work to...90% of the time if your dog is only as good as you want it to be!!!!
poaching mongrel!!!have you ever asked for permission to hunt?as for you others saying great story!whats so great about it..?after all the types of this bloke is why it is so hard for decent blokes to get land to slip there dogs on without breaking the law....if i was the farmer your van would have been torched.POACHER
there are a few god ones about but depends on what you want in them..some that are around you get thretened to be banned to easy where as others are more laid back
