That is one hell of a bloody fox..... imagine if it was a vixen... the dog would be eating cows...whole!
-
It's a mark III... sixteen foot on search and eight on locate... they're counted in penis inches though i rekon.. eight foot on the box is really about six.. Jody

Hey nobody's allowed to take the piss out of my 'gardening spade'.. my mrs'll castrate ya.. her old man bought it for me for my birthday. Went down to Devon for a few days where my mates huntsman and told a farmer about him buying it for my birthday,.. he paused the asked "which one was that then.. your tenth!!!" sorry, to answer your question pumper dog... i go hunting twice a week and help the terrierman if they mark... but i wouldn't go on any of that country on my own.. happy just helping him. at least i get a dig... the land where i go isn't hunted by any pack, so don't tred on

I used to have a russell that acted like it's skin was on fire when it had been out in the cold..it would chew it's feet and couldn't settle for an hour or so after getting inside... I put it down to it getting chill blanes from heating up too quick. Jody

I bought one of those humminbird fish finders from a fishing show last week. You cast out a little 'boat' and it sends a signal to a watch that shows the layout of the bottom, depth, water temp and even fish... fifty quid!! can't be much harder to find a terrier? Jody

Got one myself... the beeping will do your tits in. Don't have 100% confidence in it.. but every time i've dug i've dropped bang on the dog so that's all that matters really. It does get easier with practice. It should work exactly the same on locate as it does in search but over a shorter distance, if it's not send it back. Know B+F's are the best but you'd think in this day and age that you could get a collar the size of a pea the worked for hundreds of yards, and had a radar type screen that showed the tunnel network and everything.. or would that take away half the fun??? got half a dozen earths i'm watching at mo.... but don't like going near them too often.. trouble is the best places i know i have to wait until end of the shooting season. Just walking around trying to find new places, i've seen foxes there but finding the earths a different matter.. as we all know! Local hunt terrierman's a good lad and lets me help him, so get a few digs to his dogs. border x entered fairly easily, she's that keen she screams.. but isn't as hard as a black dog (sometimes a good thing, sometimes bad)

He's looking well.. what mix is he.. 1/2 of each?

Here's a couple more... will get some action shots next time i'm out... if i remember, tend to get over excited and forget till after the event... good job i'm not in the ponography industry!

Not saying that all cheap things are crap, but i bought a card like that from my cash and carry for 75p... it was bang on for long enough to power up and test, about two minutes to ground and we was back to 1930's methods. I know watch shops/some gun shops have your eye out... but if your going to save money.. buy your mrs a xmas pressie from poundland then spend what you've saved on something that could save your dogs life.... No problems so far, Jacks put some manners on the pup a couple of times... but they seem to have a heirachy sorted. They're usually with me in the day and within earshot at night, so if they start having a power struggle they'll have to be splitt.... bitches play fight a lot, but what mum says.. goes

Probably get a load of stick for this one, but they're not really bred to any line... just mixed and matched dogs that worked well... The bitch on the photo 'Olly'(she's a bayer but keen as mustard) is from hunt terriermans border dog x stopping lads border-lakie... The sire 'Jack'(NOT a bayer) i got from the rescue kennels about eight years ago... went to get a rotty to guard my workshop, and he was in the next pen.. jumping up and hanging off the bars.. when i asked about him they told me he had been there four weeks and was due to be put down... not while i've got a hole in my arse... don

This is another picture of Jimmy, this years pup... caught a rat in a cage trap in the summer when he was only four months old, wouldn't have thought about letting him have it.. but he went that mental when he saw it i thought ' if you want it that bad lad.. it's yours ' .....can't wait for his first dig.. (next season obviously!!)

This pc'ings being caving my head in for the last two hours... apparently my files are too big to upload??? so hopefully i've reduced them and your looking at my dogs or there's bugger all and i'm going to kip... fingers crossed... Jody

It's good to see eveyone congratulating you mate (and rightly so !) not been a member long but there seems to be plenty of moaning bstuds in other posts who get faint at the sight of blood. Well done mate and well done dog, bet you was grinning in the boozer that night!
-
Yeh.. they're all bedded in, and the sides lined with sticks/grass etc to loose it's shape.. mate reckons that once you catch one, you'll catch another.. due to it pissing in/on it... so i've ordered a bottle of fox urine off the net from America to try and speed up the process.. fingers crossed

Had the lamp out of my bedroom window last night and there was a brace in the stubble field where my traps are.... doing my head in, they're there but haven't even been near the traps (raked the earth round them so i'd see feetings if they had).. hopefully as it gets colder they'll find it harder to find food and wallop.. until then i'm going to get em in a spray them... i don't like hte look of galvenised steel it lights up like a f@#king christmas tree.. even on a moonless night. Couple of days in cow shite and we should smell o'naturel... and yeh bar is probably an eye out but i thou

Looks like you had a bit of fun there, There's nothing like ratting for turning grown men into squeling little girls... we've had some right cracks. Excitement seems to hit an all time high when they de-tour up your mates leg, once past the knee sheer panic / morris dancing on speed takes over...laughing so much you can't draw breath. Never done any good with a smoker though, just can't get them to shift... put excess oil in etc.... even tried a length of hose on a gas bottle (don't try this at home kids!) ....any tips????? Jb (Lincoln)

Make sure you put new batteries in your collar and box... there's nothing f@/king worse than realsing your mrs has had them in her 'electric man' so they've just got enough power left in 'em to work while you test, then packing up the minute your dog needs you! Jb

Obviously realised skunks don't spray channel #5 but didn't know it was potent enough to finish your dog off.... !! -
Bought a cage trap from the Game Fair this summer.... haven't had much joy out of her yet, but thought in for a penny, and bought another four the same off ebay for two hundred nicker.. (origional was , and they're new..not bad???)... these traps are four foot fox traps with a plate action...anyway had the old fellas set for a couple of weeks now.. started off baiting with tuna and stilton.. different i know but thought the stink would attract anything.. well it didn't... so shot a few feral pigeons which when opened up and a few feathers scattered around look bang on.... Still no joy yet, alt
