  1. Had a better hatch than expected and have 160 extra chicks than i have room for, they are mixed breeding, all from my own layers caught on my own shoot. Out of the hatcher an hour ago, there may be more available next hatch...£100 Lincoln area PM me Cheers Jody
  2. Just to add i am just outside Lincoln and am open to offers on one or both.. could arrange a courier but would prefer cash on collection if poss.. Cheers Jody
  3. Hi... If anyones after any i have a couple of pedal action type fox cage traps for sale. They were bought from the game fair a couple of years ago and are not home made. They are listed on ebay - item number 170671000383 Cheers Jody
  4. Been using aniseed oil mixed with veg oil and sprayed into wheat when filling the feeders, and def think it makes a difference... an old boy told me the other day that cummin oil was better. Anyone tried it? would an Aniseed/Cummin mix be the dogs???
  5. Was told by BF last year when i bought mine that they were bringing out a smaller collar sometime about now, if it passed field tests..?? Not that ive had any trouble with the old one but it is a big old fella..
  6. Seen a hairless pussy before but never a terrier... although some were dog rough!!
  7. The most expensive part of the BF kit is the box anyway, so when they release the new one you wont be forking out 300 bar again.... their existing collar is 70 quid on its own, so even if their replacment is slightly dearer its still a cheap sport (have you bought cartridges lately!!)... and like harddigging says its handy to have a spare especially if the new one is rechargeable.. you can garantee there's going to be a time when you charge it all night then relise in the morning you put the wrong plug in! My first season with the BF and they really are as good as people say.... Jody
  8. Just be careful if your drains are linked to the main sewer, rats may come up the pipes and give one of your dogs a nasty nip!! Seriously though, make sure you've put enough angle on the surrounding concrete to drain into it.... there's a patch in mine that stands in water and it really does my head in every time i see it... and i dont live in it!!! Jody
  9. I've just realised why shouldnt have bunked off German at school!!! Cheers for your replies Jody
  10. Struggle for earths on my shoot even though theres plenty of foxes.... the problem is the dykes are dug out every year so your always a one hit wonder.... theres also a big national trust wood that joins onto my wood which is another nightmare.. so i planned to put in some artificials both in my wood boundries and in areas of the farm which dont get jcb'd... What i wanted to know from anyone who has first hand knowledge is it bolox that plastic dont hold foxes?? ive been told that the ribbed stuff thats black on the outside and bright blue in the middle is bang on because it holds heat well.
  11. I may be wrong but i thought the round begins to drop as soon as it leaves the barrel..obviously not dropping as much for the first 50 yards as it does between 50 - 100, but still dropping... otherwise the rate at which it drops depends on what your shooting... ie a yellowjacket is a powerfull load so will drop less over a given range than a sonic etc.. Jody
  12. Hi... If anyones after a Deben mk3 i've just put mine on ebay.. item number 170179986929.. with two collars... I've always dug bang on with it.. but to be fair the beeping does my tits in and when everyone rekons Bellman and Flints are the bollocks then i had to get one... only had one dig with it (a thick necked dog the morning after ricky lost) but i was spot on both holes i dug...yes TWO holes!! who'd admitt it eh?? Anyway there's no reserve and it saves having your eye out buying a new'un... Jody
  13. I think a lot of people who call their dogs named lines in their blood maybe have a brothers uncle three generations back that once shagged a named sisters friend.. what i'm saying is what % of nuttals or gould etc are actually 100% line blood.. not many i bet not knocking the lads who have spent a lot of time and thought into getting good lines just mean that for every one of you there's hundreds thinking they've got a pure dog but haven't
  14. higgins...was told by the lad at BF when i ordered a kit on thursday... sounded like he knew what he was talking about to be fair... i know they're pricey but you get what you pay for... at least someones investing their money in developing the option for us, people dont have to buy it... i'd rather have the option to spend a few quid and get something good than be at a point where companies think terrier work is as good as banned so the only thing we can do is carry on using knockers... New kit was delivered sat morning... been out excited for it's first un this morning but as much as i look
  15. Apparently BF have a new collar on trial to replace the existing one thats not as bulky.. it's half the size, in a sealed unit and can be charged up instead of using batteries.. but it's not going on sale till end '08... look forward to blowing a few more quid then..!! don't know what everyone moans about price, if i don't spend my money on my dogs my mrs will blow it on herself... better one bitch than another!!!
  16. Just looking back through the posts and this one touched me... George was a friend of my uncle and gave me my first ferret, Smut years ago when i had hair on my head and none round my bollocks... RIP George.. Jody
  17. You said you've got a dog.. then you've got a diggin partener.... test your collar in the garden so you know how it works.... and go dig!! Know earths can turn out bigger than they can appear at first but just saying don't go straight to a 15 holer... you sound like you've got plently of land, so if you can find a 2/3 holer and enjoy yourself.. if someone you consider experianced that you don't really know is there they may take away the majic of first breaking through.... would you want a porn star at your first f*%k?????? Enjoy... Jody
  18. Cheers waz... first year rearing, if i learn one thing every day i may have some idea in about 50 years..!

  22. I was talking to my uncle about terriers this christmas, he has hunted with the North Yorkshire packs for the last fifty years. During the conversation he mentioned the terrier leaving the earth after only working his fox for a short amount of time (10 minutes or so). eh? i said, left his fox? Who on this site would admitt to having a terrier that did that??? Seems to me the perfect dog for a rock earth like this...!! 9 times out of 10 he'll bolt once worked if given the chance. You'll be hunting your fox again and come darkness having a pint talking about the day, whilst the man who entere
  23. Don't knock him 'cos it was a small vixen.. they're often the worst.. my mrs is a small vixen and i'm 6'2 and 15 stone .. she frightens the shit out of me when the claws come out!! the boy done good...
  24. This is Jack.. I went to the rescue kennels about nine years ago to pick up a rotty to guard my workshop, Jack was in the next pen jumping up the wire and hanging on by his teeth. When i enquired about him i was told that for some reason he'd been kept five weeks instead of the usual four, and was due to be put down the next day. Not a chance. I gave twenty quid for him and he's guarded my workshop, ratted, dug and generally been a good old lad ever since.
