  1. Damn it, that explains it all now, Should have known better, out with Phantom last night shooting rats and my BSA Scorpion jammed up with pellets in the barrel so I had to get out my Hw 100 which was zeroed in at 30yrds for rabbits knowing this and not bothering to re zero I simply used my dots to compensate the close range shots and wondered why I still missed a few I should have kept the cross hairs on the rats eye. Not to worry know for future reference but still got a few anyway Good topic Zini, learn something new every day Edited to say, any body got any suggestion on how to

    Pellets

Cheers Phantom Lets put it another way, apart from choosing a brand that is consistant in weight, size profile and suitability for the gun can one assume that pointed ones are for better penetration, cleaner kill, domed for long range high impact, hollow for short range high impact etc. What are your thoughts.
  6. Ok, caus I`m bored after reading all the posts I want to read, heres one for you Which pellet, brand, why, when etc Pellets.doc

  14. Thats very kind of you buddy Although that turn off is only 10 minutes away from here by car; Sadly I don't have the transport to get there Perhaps in the not too distant future, we can meet up and have a few sessions together on rats and bunnies and if I can take this new lead on; (I was offered a referal today for a place with a major bunny problem, but its about an 45 minutes walk each way only about 4 minutes in car ) a very nice sounding permission a little closer to you Phantom Ok,an experience you wont forget. PM`d you,
  15. Hi Phantom Can you make it to Newport turn off for tomorrow at 7pm, I can give you a session on rat shooting. Dillan
  16. Me too, I clear holes, partner follows laying purse nets down full hedge. Go for a drink a fag and a chat back at vehicle. Go back to first warren done with ferrets quietly. This way this gives chance for bunnies to calm down. Beauty about this is if any slip the nets then theres a good chance of backnetting. I have seen us take a full morning to prepare setting 100+ nets before getting out the ferrets. Cant chance putting in all the effort a week before for poachers to do it after all the hard work done clearing out. Dillan

  18. Good write up P, as they say, take the rough with the smooth, good times and bad times, you cant win them all etc, I say if you shot them all today there will be nothing for tomorrow Dillan
  19. Decent size set up but a bit boring for them, not being funny but all 3 levels are the same, shavings and more shavings.. put a couple of carrier bags in, handles removed to give em something noisy to roll around in, or a small cardboard box with a couple of holes in.. its not only fun for them but it keeps them fit. I would also put a water bottle on the top level, would you want to walk down 3 flight of stairs to have a drink Point taken FF, I used to have logs, golf balls, and tubes etc in them at one stage, but over a period of time when cleaning out I minimised the clu
