  1. Naah getting out the trusty hw 100 and digi cam, I want some footage of bunny shots Dillan
  2. The word you was looking for Phantom was the `Farrowing House`. It has been said on many occasions by myself its not an air rifle I need, its a bloody machine gun Oh by the way I managed to get 8 pellets out of my BSA Scorpion, 2 dropped out of the silencer and I drilled 6 out, cant reach the other 2 till I fill up again to help push them down Dillan

Well done Lew, we all started somewhere, heres to many more, although maybe not in your back garden eh Dillan
  4. Good write up Phantom, yes it was all fun and games, all seemed quiet on my side, probably due to the full moon lighting up the whole yard. Good session buddy look forward to some bunny bashing tomorrow. In the meantime feast your eyes on these Dillan

  12. Just had a play with CGP, didnt realise how much the magnification made a difference to the POI using the mill-dots. It is clear that at the zero point it makes no difference on my 4x14. My gun is zeroed at 30 yrds. As soon as I increased distance say 50 yrds with a magnification of 4 I would have to lift my gun to 1 dot, if I turned magnification up to 14 I would have to lift the gun to 3 and 3/4 of a dot, Okay the distance may be ecsessive but it proves comparing the data in a 1 inch kill zone, that is the difference of a hit or a miss. I always assumed that at any amount of hold over the ma
  13. WOW, excellent demonstration, it all makes sense now, this must be the best and the most important advice I`ve seen to date, well done Zini your a star Dillan
  14. Well done MM :clapping: , looks only a half grown one but they all count, may there be many more shots Dillan
  15. Talking of the red lamp, it was more of a small red light without the beam I put my beam on and off it a few times expecting Toni to signal back to confirm it was him then it vanished, after the session we went to have a look to see if it was a red reflector on a post but nothing was there , I think it was too low for a deer then again I have only seen them with shiny white eyes, do badgers show red eyes when lit up with red lamps Dillan
  16. Let me expand Firstly I was late getting to Phantom, an hour to be exact due to work commitments We get there and the farmer was out just winding up for the day after tidying up his derelict farm, so there was no rabbits about. We got our gear together and split up, I was to cover the farm building area and Phantom covered 2 x 100yard long hedgerow/tree lined area stuffed with rabbits. I decided I wanted to get some footage with my digicam but couldn’t get on with it lyed down so after a wasted half hour with not a bunny in sight I put it away and went for a stroll with lamp attached.
  17. Took Phantom out for a session tonight..............RUBBISH
  18. Hi Rushty I use a Sony digicam which has built in NV, I screw a digiscope to the digicam and the sleeve fits comfortably around the scope, it is alligned using 3 grubscrews to ensure the cross hais are central to the picture. Because the NV is limited to about 8 ft I attach a lamp to the top of the scope with an infra red filter which gives me a good 50 yards viewing in pitch black. Simply look at the view finder, press record, put cross hairs on target area and pull trigger. They have no idea your there, I know because on the rare occasions I miss they just carry on with there business anabl
  19. Hey buddy, A 5 mm dia dowl rod should be enough. Just remove the barrel (think the Scorpion has two grub screws like the S200 holding it on) Hold the dowel rod upright in a vice and poke the barrel (muzzle first) over the rod and just keep tapping the barrel down until the pellets come back out of the breech end. The good thing about using a dowel rod is that it will not harm or mark the rifling of the barrel whereas a metal rod would scratch the barrel inside. Phantom Cheers Phantom, I searched on here last night and found a couple of posts describing same. Never experie
  20. Good write up Phantom, could`nt have explained it better myself, didnt think you would be disapointed. I made a count up on the cam corder last night of 18 and yes you did hit that rat as you made a comment that said `1st rat with NV` I will down load it later on here for you. Anyway glad you enjoyed the experience, see you tonight for a bit of `Dylan` bashing
  21. Had a few over the years, used air rifle, trap and terriers flushing to gun, location been the key to what method I use. I have been called out to places where they have wiped out colonies of Voles in drains and ponds where they are destroying not only other small mammals and birds but fish stocks too. Can you imagine the frustration of water owners who have spent thousands on fish stocks only to find the remains on the banks every morning. Personally I think trapping is better, sat there for hours waiting with air rifle and blanked. Dillan
