Just to inform you that I ordered 2 terrier collars from Strong Stuff. After receiving them I was that impressed with the quality of the goods I ordered 2 more. I sent the first pair back to have them altered to my personal preference, which included shortening them, making the holes closer and having pouches attached to hold my transmitters. In addition to this he used Lumo orange for the sleeves for easier visibility. Hats off to him for a fast, reliable, customer service with a personal touch.

Just got the clearance from our lass for another session at the rats for tomorrow night if you fancy a session Phantom Dillan

Good write up Phantom and session, almost feels like I was there Yes, not the bestest of nights, managed to get 9 shots off with 6 for the bag, they didnt appear to be playing the white man last night, I feel the night cam would have been more productive for me in a static position, it appeared that every time I spied my quarry with the red lamp they slinked off as I just found them with my cross hairs. Typical english weather, got up myself at 6am, dry as a bone when I boxed the ferrets, made the one hour journey and it just lashed it down continuous, didnt even make it out of the car, went home and back to bed, hope its better weather next week.

To be honest I hav`nt got round to attaching them to my nets yet, although I must admit I would prefer to use purse nets if all the holes are easily accessible. I get frustrated when I see rabbits bolt and nip into the next hole rather than run into the long net, each time I think to myself I would have had that if there was a purse net on.Maybe its because theyve seen me or the long net is set too close and think better of it and just nip in the next hole. I tend to use long nets in bad places where I cant or its to much hastle to get in. Never had the opportunity for a good place to set long

Normally I leave the ferreting alone for as long as possible to ensure there are fewer young rabbits about, which invariably lead to lay-ups. However a desperate plea from my nephew (Gavin) found me on my first day out of the season. After all he did say there was a hundred running about on his permission. So up at dawn getting my gear ready I set off for the hour journey to his permission. I must admit I was a little apprehensive as there was a good breeze blowing when I got there, experience has taught me few rabbits like bolting in these conditions, but I was there now so suck it and see, a

Once sat down on a grass bank taking a break whilst I watched my terriers bushing in the bramble patches on the side of a railway embankment, after about 5 mins I happened to look behind me and there was a fox sat behind me about 20 yards away watching me watching my terriers at work, it sat there a good few mins before it decided to move on. Excellent shooting Zini, proving once again how valuable the CGP is to the dedicated shooter Regards Dillan -
WAIT a cotten picken moment Buddy, If I remember correctly out of the four or five shot; you were the one who managed to retrieve a perfectly sweet noggin shot on a fecking big bunnies head? I was hoping to be out tonigt at the Paddock and Cemy, but the electrical storm said I must go get my supply of cans and supp til I drop I'm now ready to drop (15 cans later I feel a little sick!) Phantom LOL Alright I might have exagerated a bit

well done dillan, after 6 mths of looking for the right poles, god only knows how many hours brousing the internet, phonecalls ect, travelling to the shop to collect or postage, you managed to save 49p a pole a grand total of £17.15p,ffs hardly worth the hassle,LOL:tongue2: www.magnumtrap.com/longnets.html Try £3.95 each and then multiply by 35 = £138.25 or Try £1.50 each and then multiply by 35 = £52.50 Which option would you choose LOL Tongue

After looking for poles for my 100 and 2x50yrd long nets over a period of 6 months Ive finally found some at a reasonable price. I have looked at various materials from canes to plastics and found them unsuitable. I searched the web for manufacturers, tried garden centres, diy shops, camping stores to no avail. I was unwilling to pay £2-£3 each for the ideal fibreglass ones from gamefairs etc. However I had a go again on the web the other day and found that a company supplies them to selected fishing tackle shops, used for strengthening whips and poles or simply used for stakes to hold umber

Hi BL, nearest I know of is on Hessle Rd in Hull at a divers shop, about £4 to fill up a divers bottle if I remember right. Dont know if they fill up at the divers centre at North Cave. Some gun shops charge a pound to fill up your buddy bottle. Dillan

Good shooting Jasper, never had the opportunity to shoot a hare with an air gun, its been a lot of years ago since I tried hare I`ve forgot what it tastes like Regards Dillan

Cheers, Had this permission about 2yrs now, dropped on it by chance knocking on the door looking for a farm in the vicinity that had a rat problem, never did find the farm to this day. I go shooting once a week most of the year round except the longest days with light nights. I have tried terriers but theres few warrens about as they live mostly in the cavities. I`ve tried snaring and had a few in the runs, tried fenn traps with little success, poisons they eat like eating candy. So far using air guns has been the most productive, any thing from 1-2 dozen per gun and on occasions nudging 50, a
