Had a look bigears, intresting stuff not had a terrier for years now cos they are a bloody nuisance, handy bushing dogs though, but climbing up trees at 5am in a neighbours garden to get the b*****d (Russel) off a cat was the beginning of the end for me. the bitch was broken to cats we have always kept cats but she decided to kill that one anyway. it makes me happy knowing people are working hard to improve the bedlington breed. Goodluck

in answer to your post Helen it was out of my hands my missus Lynn wanted a cuddly dog instead of bony lurchers or bull breeds. i thought why not, the girl who bred the doodles has a kennel of excllent working labs and unusually working golden retrivers. so i agreed to have doodles on the basis that they would be trained as gundogs The blokes i know in the game nearly fell off their stools laughing so it became a bit of a mission Lynn agreed so that so thats how it started, if she had wanted a standard i would have happily trained it the same way i really admire the poodle its a much m

The poodle is conidered one of the most intelligent dog breeds in the world next to the border collie. they are originatd from french gundogs, But ive never seen a purebred work. They are from the ones i know of a bit flighty but you cant tire them out, very lightly built they have a good build for a potential cross, but i wouldnt pay £800 for a gold plated dog!!

yes mate foxes are dirty eaters so they carry a hole load of nasty bacteria in their mouth area, keep it clean and bacterial powder or wash will do the trick normally our dogs look like bullterriers after a bad bite

Notice people knocking poodle x greyhounds in the countrymans weekly thread...... dont if you havent seen the dog work,i use a labradoodle for a gun dog he is spot on and also scores well at the scurrys and trials in the summer. He is enormous though built like a tank i also have a golden retriever crossed with a poodle and she is a demon in cover as hard a nails and an excllent water dog she can hunt all day harder than a springer.A bit more wilful than the labradoodle both dogs were experiments to see if it was a credible working dog x so i have gone out of my way to work them hard.

i have a big numb saluki as well and to see them flying about is a laugh, just lately though she is catching him and then attacks his front legs. it must be a kelpie thing? i know she will catch rabbits now, she is a fast game little dog but she isnt ready in her head yet she is easily distracted. so i will wait until she is right and nobody knows how long that will be, remember her job will be as a ferreting dog....as with all puppies there is no rushing them. good luck with your choices

since the above photos were taken it seems like she has found another gear she is a pocket rocket standing 21" chuffed to bits with her

if im not mistaken that has the look of the ancient bloodline of the haggis hound. bred from the old lineage of the chookta nation. they start off on slippers so watch him i reckon he will make 29cms at the shoulder

start with an eight week old pup, give it the best food and shelter you can afford, train it carefuly so that you have good re call and that it retieves and waits on command. break it too ferrets dont let it play witht the ferrets just get it used to them. work hard on getting the basics right then depending on the pup start it slowly i like to wait until its at least a year old before i start it fereting just because it will have more patience than a ten month old lamping dog. ferret simple sets and just be on hand to stop the pup worrying the netted rabbit it has to know that once yo

we have a big saluki dog and absolute character and beautiful to look at but i dont rate him YET!! he may change over the next year or so (Coming up to 3). he would be ideal as a fen dog but he never seems to try consistently he wont hunt up he wont retrieve he wont mark sets he is a tail biter if his quarry has teeth he isnt easy to kennel up with other dogs he can run all day but my gundogs do that his recall is ok and general obedience is fine we keep him because he is ok at the job and on a good day he is a pleasure to watch. But above all the family put up with

lovely pup they look like a happy pack. those were really good photos

we have a big saluki (my sons ) dog and to be honest we have never had any trouble with him he doesnt retrieve but recall is good, i did have a young pointer that was a bugger when he was that age. they are trying it on really thy are at that stage. what i did with him was use a handful of gravel or car key or news paper coke can anything that i had to hand and if he ignored me a clip on the backside would make him jump and then i offred loads of praise and a tit bit. he came around in the end. Saluki are right soft shites so this should be enough for him to think he is better of coming to you
